Wrapped Up: God’s Ten Gifts for Women offers a healthy alternative to the false messages women hear today. Each chapter focuses on a different gift a woman is meant to discover and unwrap, ultimately leading to peace and fulfillment. Cheryl draws from her extensive knowledge of Old Testament women to unveil life lessons found in the rich history of our faith, and Teresa uses her media expertise to reveal how to counter the cultural messages that inundate women today. Together, the authors provide a timeless and timely look at God’s life-giving gifts.
First of all, this is a beautiful book. I know that you're never supposed to judge a book by it's cover, but I still do. I don't deny it. This book is gorgeous and has a very nice feel to it.
This book is very sweet. I especially liked the section on the Gift of Letting Go. I think this is a section that could benefit all women. It seems so many of us hold on to previous pain when it's unnecessary.
I also liked the section on the Gift of Your Sisters in Faith. It's so true that overall women connect the best with other women, but it seems that these days all we do as see other women as a potenial risk. As I've aged, I've become more comforable with myself and my marriage where other women no longer seem like a threat, but I wish that I'd come to this realization much sooner.
***six years or so later*** Coming back to finish this review, all I really want to say is that this was not the book for me. I appreciated the citations and some of the anecdotes and the book physically feels nice (I like a good coverfeel, sue me). Otherwise...there's a lot of scriptural exegesis in this that I don't agree with, opinions stated as fact that I don't believe in, and some things I think are actively harmful.

This spiritual book was chosen for the Women of Prayer and Spirit prayer group at St. Mary's. The first 2-3 chapters didn't really speak to most of us; we all thought the later chapters were better. That notwithstanding, I still wouldn't recommend it.

I WON THIS BOOK ON GOODREADS. I THINK THAT THIS BOOK HAS A LOT TO OFFER A WOMAN THAT IS SEARCHING FOR ANSWERES. I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS BOOK FOR THOSE THAT ARE LOOKING ANSWERS.
I read this for a book club at church and enjoyed our discussions. The book itself was okay. There was a companion journal that we all wrote in that was nice to stimulate our thoughts.
