This book has a wealth of information for a beginning knitter and will serve as a great reference for me when I am using a technique I haven’t completely mastered. The patterns are well written and easy to follow and there is also a really nice stitch gallery for designing pieces.

Tomorrow, I am going to a class to learn how to knit! This book was suggested by the woman teaching the class. She said that it was a very good book because it contained a good amount of information.
Although, I've only skimmed through it, I agree with her The pictures are wonderful and the instructions for the basic knitting stitches look easy to follow. There are even patterns in the back of the book for gorgeous sweaters, scarves, mittens and hats! The cover is a bright, beautiful color and looks wonderful on my new bookshelves.
I so hope that I am coordinated enough to do this! I have 1 newborn grandson and another due any time......grandma needs to knit things! LOL

I was surprised to find this is a good overall knitting book with a wide range, from beginner to very complete advanced techniques (even sewing in a zipper). The instruction is clearly written with decent illustrations. I'm an advanced knitter, and this book still deepened my knit knowledge.
