Each dealing with their own drama, three friends--romance author Renee, nurse Danielle, and administrative assistant Kayla--come together to save one of their own when the unthinkable happens, learning valuable lessons in love, honesty, and friendship. Original.
Angie Daniels grew up on the South side of Chicago, Illinois. At a very early age, she spent nights creating soap operas with her younger sister until the two drifted off to sleep. Never did she realize that her longtime dream to become a published author would someday become a reality.
In 1999 Angie decided it was finally time to return to her love of writing. She took a year off to write her first book Intimate Intentions, which started off as a simple romance novel and later escalated into 542 pages of romantic suspense. After two submissions, Angie was offered a four-book contract with Genesis Press and her first book was released in 2001. In 2003, she also signed with BET Arabesque, and Kensington's Dafina imprint in 2004. In 2006, she added Parker Publishing, Aphrodisia and Harlequin Kimani Romance to her list. In 2010 she will release her twentieth novel. Angie currently resides in Missouri.
This book was amazing! I'm mad at myself for not researching about the book BEFORE I read it cause I just found out this is a 3 book series!! But I will be reading the others as well and I definitely reccommend this book!

My thoughts: 🔖Page 112 of 344 Ch. 10 Renee - I don't know where Danielle came from but she isn't a pleasant addition to the crew, her storyline is interesting. There have been continuity issues, Renee had older children in the last book and they seemed to only have aged a little I think they were like 13 & 16 and now they are 15 & 17, then Kayla had small children 8 & 4 and now they are like a teen with acrylic nails and young elementary age, but it has been 2-3 years since the last book; the time on that has been inconsistent age well based on characters ages, events that occurred, and their admission. So I'm going to have to ignore all of that. So far I don't see a point to a lot of the besides the drama, but I'm kinda here for that so I just let it happen, it just would be better with an accurate passing of time. I'm sure the lack of continuity is intentional because she wanted to do something with the storyline. Then there is the jump in drama that makes no sense so I don't even know what day it is anymore. I'm not sure what's up with Portia's storyline it's everywhere and odd. 🔖197 Ch. 23 Kayla - I can't stand stupid but I'ma keep reading it, more drama. 🔖247 Ch. 33 Renee - I predicted Danielle's storyline early on but Kayla and Renee are carrying this book, it has gotten very interesting.
The story must have been updated with the cover because "Kayla turned on the radio and bobbed her head to H.E.R." which makes me wonder what she was actually bobbing to in 2007, 7 years before H.E.R. hit the scene. Cardi B. made an appearance too, this also explains why most of the 'iggas are now 'uccas. They made several updates to recording artists' references but didn't correct errors like, "I added as I made a right at the next comer." My other issue is the names are very similar: Carmen, Carmel, Caeramel, too much. Renee-s daddy storyline is being too drawn-out, I assume it's finally going to be addressed in the next book. This book started a little mediocre but it got much better toward the middle, if you're expecting female growth this isn't the book for you, there was some of that in the first book, but this is pure stupid drama for entertainment, think Jerry Springer guests in their home environment with good paying jobs but bad decisions everywhere else from men to parenting. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue this series straight through or mix it up with another fiction book but I will have this series done within the week. I want to keep it close despite the discontinuity but I can only take so much mindless drama at once. Overall it's enjoyable to a point if you just accept they aren't going to change any time soon.
Recommend to others: Yes, but only if you love messy drama and don't mind a little foolishness.
The Company Series In the Company of my Sistahs Trouble Loves Company Careful of the Company You Keep Misery & Company
Company 1. In The Company Of My Sistahs (2006) 2. Trouble Loves Company (2007) 3. Careful of the Company You Keep (2008) 4. Misery & Company (2017)
Yall this book was something else those three friends always had each others back and didnt suger-coat nothing and believe in getytying u back for screw over one of them. Theres a 3rd installment of this story so b on the look out for my updates. Peace.
The 2nd series was a good read. I love the bond the ladies seem to ha e with each other. Kayla is definitely a person I’ve seen in many women. I didn’t like how the recap from book 1 was put in this one. Some parts were written out in depth and that was to much. You can’t read book 2 before book 1 so I felt that was unnecessary. Other than that the book was good and had a lot of twist and turns.
I read this book thinking it was the last book in the series as only 4 books are listed on Amazon. I am getting tired of the characters I don't want to do life with them forever so the fact that this book has a few cliffhangers is disappointing. I don't see that another book is currently available and I'm ready to read something else.
The book is enjoyable, but the story overall doesn't seem to have an end.
Read the first book in this series and was captivated with all the character's stories. It was a Great read so much so, I wanted to continue on with their stories. All I have to say is... I thought the first book was something, but the second one is even better!! Great read that will keep you entertained the entire time! A must read! I'm about to purchase the next book in this series. Can't wait to see what new plot and twist are in this one!
All three women learn that God is the greatest choice and most trusting person to have in their corner. Each one has their own demons to slay however holding hands and believing God will bring each to the other side will guide and make their relationship stronger.
This book was full of stereotypes and juvenile language. I stopped about a third of away through when one of the main characters used a gay slur when referring to a transsexual woman . The storyline was interesting but the writing was poor. Just ugh!!!
Okay I read In the Company of my Sisthas, and I liked the book so of course I continued the series. But this book definitely took I turn. So many twists and turns, book two was even better. I’m definitely going to read the next book in the series
This book was good .It had a lot of drama and excitement. Some of.the characters actions were unbelievable. The books get really hot in the middle. Its a second book .I'm going to read it because this book left me hanging.
Whew! This was a rollercoaster of a read. The twist, shock, and oh my goodness. then I had a are you for real a few times. Murder and mayhem. Sexual escapades, teenage pregnancy and abuse. Powerfully written. I enjoyed it and I'm hooked. On to the next in the series.
This book was an enjoyable read full of drama and mystery. The ladies become detectives to save a friend. How far would you go for a friend? This book is a quick read as well.
