This book was a remarkable way of learning about a historical person! Patricia Clapp wrote this story through the eyes of Elizabeth Blackwell as if she were narrating her life. This book included dialogue and other artistic techniques to make this story different than other bland biographies. Throughout the book, the audience reads through how Blackwell got the idea to become a doctor to the end of her life. I thought Patricia Clapp wrote this story in an intriguing way and never left me bored. I learned a lot of amazing facts about Elizabeth Blackwell in an exciting way I never thought of! Do not let the genre prevent you from reading it because it is no different from a novel. Overall, I would definitely recommend reading this book.

This an excellent book for young adults and, by the way, I learned quite a few facts that I didn't know (or have forgotten). :D
