This book delineates the development and revision of Freud's theories. Even though nowadays challenged, modified, and even superseded, Freud's ideas were inspirational to many masters of the human psyche after him. The book is a bit technical and dry to read. Great for getting a background of how the psychoanalysis developed. Even some ideas sound bizarre nowadays, knowing the logic of how the ideas came to be and the circumstances under which they did, helped me emphasize with Freud more.
