I am the author of seven books for children and young adults, including Drums, Girls & Dangerous Pie. So if youʼre looking for info about some other guy named Jordan Sonnenblick, youʼve got the wrong website. Anyway, I know a lot of people are looking for stuff they can use in reports for school, so Iʼll just get this out of the way right up front: My favorite color is blue. I have a wife and two kids. The best pet I ever had was a garter snake I caught when I was eight by a lake in Pennsylvania. I named the snake Hector. Then it gave birth to 20 baby snakes, so I changed its name to Hectoria. My all-time favorite band is the Beatles, although I like a ton of different music. My hobbies are playing the drums, guitar, and bass; riding my bicycle at least 50 miles a week; hanging out with my wife and kids; and reading. Speaking of reading, I read a lot of different genres. As a kid, though, I mostly read fantasy, science fiction, and comic books. When I was in fourth grade, a fantasy novel called The Dark is Rising inspired me to become a novelist someday. My favorite baseball team is the New York Yankees. When I was a kid, my best friend and I used to go to Yankees games and throw open ketchup packets off the upper deck. Donʼt try that at home, kids!
Notes from the Midnight Driver is about a teenager named Alex who gets into trouble and ends up driving an old man around as part of his punishment. At first, Alex is angry and careless, but over time, he starts to change as he learns more about responsibility and empathy. I liked the message of the book and how Alex grows as a person, but some parts of the story felt predictable and moved a little slowly. Overall, it was an okay read with a good lesson, just not one of my favorites. I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars and might recommend it to people who like realistic stories about personal growth.
It was okay, there was an old grumpy man who likes Jazz and this kid has to volunteer at the old folks home. The guy dies at the end, nothing really interesting happened. But the entertainment value kept throughout the story.

Lexi and I loved this book. She said it they ever made a movie adaptation , she would surely cry. I thought the interwoven plot lines around redemption and forgiveness were well executed and jazz guitar never sounded so cool. I also enjoyed using my Bronx Yiddish accent to bring Sol to life
This book was great and I really loved it, also I did get board in the beginning a little but it was very fast paced. It reminded me of the fourteenth goldfish which I also loved, so this was a great book and worth staying up until midnight and wrecking my sleep.
Very funny. Read it at the beginning of the year and forgot to review it here. My students (10th grade) liked it very much. Would recommend to a fellow teacher.
I was so unengaged at the start but it gradually reeled me in and then the ending had me feeling genuinely emotional. Pretty good overall, I would say.
Miscalculations in life are the cause of many’s deaths in the world, Alex poses no exception to this statement. Writing novels about child presents a different point of view for an adult to portray in a correct manner, and with this approach the author provides, I believe he wrote it in renowned terms. As a child myself, I am aware life is notoriously unpredictable, however, I have yet experienced instances of terrible things. Thus, having a point of view to reference from, Alex, who has various moments in life where he has felt utterly hopeless, it has brought forth a sense of the world, how it brings different issues for young adults.
