This was a really nice book to supplement our studies of Alabama. I have a 6 and 9 year old and it's sometimes to find a book to bridge the gap between them. This was a good book to do that. The text is larger, the pictures are a larger size, which is great. I like that they touched on a few hometown heroes and also talked about slavery and the civil rights movement. It's a complicated issue to explain to children, but I thought this book did a good job of doing explaining it.

Overall a nice book!

Fairly informative, but I'm not impressed by the repetitive format. This particular book outraged me by the lack of updated information about the state I live in. That and why must Alabama be remembered for only the Civil Rights movement. There is so much more to this beautiful place.
This would be good if your child is struggling in Geography or Social Studies. So get to studying kids.
Have fun reading!
