Energy Alternatives

Rate this book
The age of cheap oil is ending. Adding to economic and political issues of oil-dependent energy are environmental alarms such as global warming heightening investigations into sustainable energy. Viewpoint selections explore the viability of the most frequently suggested energy alternatives. Writing exercises, discussion questions, and model essays then guide students as they create their own compare-and-contrast essays on the subject.

It’s definitely outdated- they need to put together a new version. It does its job by showing opposing viewpoints but they’re not all from reputable sources and I didn’t come out of it really knowing any more facts than before because there was a lot of contradictory information because each argument played with the numbers in their own favor. Most of it was projections and opinions but it seems silly to me for a topic that is real and absolute... there must be more finite information they could provide.

This book also helped me with my research paper. It provided different viewpoints on various topics under the umbrella of energy. There are many articles that give pro's and con's of different energy sources.
