Expresses contrasting views on whether homelessness is a problem, the causes of the condition, housing options, and the role of society and government in its alleviation
I finally read it all! It took me virtually all day because I had been very behind in my reading. Although I skimmed in some areas of the book in which I felt weren't completely necessary to understand the plot or message of the story, I am extremely glad I finished it, because overall, it was a very informative piece of writing. I learned several new facts about some of the aspects of homelessness as well as reading about specific numbers when the author talked about the statistics of homelessness in our country. Since this book is a part of a series, I would like to read the next installment of the "Opposing Viewpoints" series, perhaps on an even more interesting topic.
Since I run a non-profit organization whose mission is to help feed, clothe, provide personal hygiene items and minister to the homeless, I thought this to be a must read. Truly understanding the message it brought forth! Homelessness is a problem for us all and we all should do our best to combat it as much as possible.
Fair time and arguments given for each side. Not biased that I could tell. The book was written without intent other than to provide points for BOTH sides. Very good series.
