This is a great book for younger students to learn about the earth and its environment. the text is very reader friendly and has many side bars and pullouts for the reader to interact with the book and make their learning engaging. This is good for students who are in Elementary with or with out help from elders.
I love this book! It is crammed with awesome facts interesting pop ups to. Amazing fun facts and cool pictures and how many yellow ducks 🦆 can you find
This book is related to my chosen PWR; geography. I thought this one would be a great book to share with you all if and when you come across teaching physical geography.
How the world works is a brightly coloured pop up book with great information and facts to share with children on how the world works. It includes themes such as rivers, mountains, volcanoes etc. I thought this is a great book to use as it does pop up and is interactive to use for all types of learners. It can help children to interactively understand many physical processes as well as helping them feel geography does not need to be as boring as they initially thought.
I love the little facts each page holds as well as the fun labelled, child friendly diagrams and pictures used in the book.
This is a great book to use within the classroom as a point of reference in any year group, it can also in collaboration with science when teaching the water cycle. I would definitely recommend it as a must have!
Shortlisted for Blue Peter Book Awards 2011 for best factual book, this is a action packed rollercoaster of a journey into the history of the earth.
Each topic comes alive with an array of pop ups, pull outs and turn wheels. There is a lot of information here but the quirky child friendly language and colourful illustrations make this book fun and easy to digest.
This is a very clever book because it has managed to cater for a range of ages from KS1 upwards. It supports all learning styles especially kinesthetic and visual learners. Small chunks of facts suitable for younger children are dotted around the page whilst the more informative text will appeal to older children.
This is a fantastic book with the 'wow' factor. It proves that learning can be done in a fun way. It is a great resource for teachers and will cover a lot of topics like, planets, water cycle, greenhouse effect, weather and plants.
A must read for all budding explorers and scientists!
This book is wonderful! It's a great educational tool for information on understanding how the world works, such as info about the planets and how the earth came to be, to information about global warming and how it works (and our impact and consequences). I'm slightly ashamed to say I learned a bit from this book (mostly from what I have forgotten, or never learned). It's such an easy book to understand and is engaging for kids, with all the pop-ups, tabs and wheels, and with basic facts (told in a fun way) and fun facts along the pages. If I were a kid, this would make me want to learn! For around ages 8-12.
This book was really fun to read because all of the colorful pop-ups and tabs. It covered many topics such as how the Earth formed, plate tectonics, the water cycle, whether, sea movement, the carbon cycle, plants, and the food chain. It is a great way to have kids learn about facts of the world for visual and interactive learners. It covers a lot of information and themes that are important when learning science and I enjoyed looking at the illustrations while reading the facts.
Tackling the physical intricacies of how our world works and actually making it fun, this cool interactive book looks at plate tectonics, the water cycle, ocean currents and more.
This book is interactive and goes from astronomy, geology, natural geography and a little bit biology/carbon footprint. I like this book that I am going to read more similar books by this author!
