Even though the dynamic have changed a lot since this book was written, the knowledge it offers is so invaluable which personally I think a solid foundation is incomplete without them.
I picked up this book with a very skeptical mind, just as I always do with investment ones and never expected to like it so much but now I can see myself coming back to it from time to time for reference and reminders.
Although ALOT has changed since this book was published it contains some interesting insights and history of the Australian property market. Well written and easy to read, geared more towards investors than first / new home buyers in the current market.
Simple and drives the point home without being excessively repetitive - what to look out for, demographics and their drivers. Most importantly, this teaches you when to enter the market and when to exit - and not everything has to be centred around the big 2 cities. I am looking forward to a more detailed sequel if there will ever be another.
An excellent handbook for anyone getting into the Aussie property market. Lots of thorough discussion on the fundamentals driving the Australian market.
Good analysis on the underlying of Australian housing market, what makes it tick and how it is different to other markets such as the U.S.
It is interestingly covers investing in mining towns which is now considered as no go zone given the mining downturn (book was written before the downturn).
