One of the most dangerous things in the Marvel U lands in Jen Walters' lap, and she's got to figure out what the heck to do with it. And that's all while putting her life and career back together.
3.25 stars. The Jack of Hearts, who was believed to be dead, has shown up at Jen’s place. He’s been wanting to do things he never needed to do like eat and drink but he can’t remember why he is there. I like She-Hulk, absolutely love these covers, digging the art but this mystery is unraveling very slowly. Maybe I’d be more connected to what’s going if I new who this Jack of Hearts was.
Well from issue #1 to issue #2 we get a big jump and change and tone of story.
Issue #1 played as a very introductory and some what throw away story while issue #2 clearly draws from She-Hulk's history and picks up a story from the past with Jack of Hearts.
And while this issue to some extent takes place entirely in the kitchen while munching down food I couldn't get enough! She-Hulk in a bathrobe some fantastic art manages to be a really compelling start to what appeara to be something of a bigger story and mystery.
Soooo good! I’ve wanted to get into she hulk for such a long time and I’m excited to read this run!! I missed out on finding issue 1 in the wild so I had to catch up online but I’m definitely going to keep reading this!! The art style is incredible and these COVERS!! Omg the vintage style is so cool! I previously had no idea who jack of hearts even was but I love him so far! I might have to go catch up on some of the backstory here but so far it’s been perfect!

The art is incredible. It's really the highlight of the series for me so far. This issue is better, or at least more consistent in terms of art than the first.
This series is very slow to start. Jack's story is intriguing, but nothing much is happening. I can see the potential to be really good, but so far, it's not quite there yet for me.
Jack's a pretty fun character so far. Some of the jokes (okay, all of the jokes) are very predictable and obvious, which makes them less funny.
We get to learn more about jack of hearts this issue, but how he is back from the dead is still a mystery. Not knowing much about him before this, it was actually nice to get a background check. And there was some really funny moments that just felt natural in the writing, it was good.
The story continues to be accessible without the need to pull the brakes. There is forward momentum throughout and I already feel engaged with the main mystery... the 'main mystery' as things stand, at least. Jennifer's care and patience fills every page. It's impossible not to warm to her. Special comment for the subway panel which made me smile from ear to ear.
I am actually liking this series atm, even with Jack in the picture, though I'm interested to know the comic run we last saw him in. Dowell's writing can be a big hit or miss I'll have to admit, but she's grown as a writer so far (as I've only read two of her books) and I love just how vibrant everything is and the contrast of things. hope this gets a longer run.
made for girls by girls ...how did i get here ,honestly i find it funny jack comes back from space . haven't been seen in years presumed dead , says his hungry and she hulk is like lets order pizza lmao
