This was a very cool book! It has received up and down reviews though, but I usually like reading books like this, so I just forged ahead to decide on my own and I am sure glad that I did as I enjoyed the book!

There are lots of stories of objects that are haunted within these pages. The author goes into extreme detail of all the objects expressing to the reader the origination of the object and why it could be haunted. Dolls are mentioned within this book including the famous doll, Annabelle, along with the haunted doll, Robert. There are other different things that were mentioned in the book that I hadn't read before in any other book. The author did have one story about the haunted painting that was sold on ebay a few years ago. I read a book a little over a year ago about that painting.

All the stories were interesting and some of them were kind of spooky. I was creeped out on a few of them as I was reading them late at night and the house was quiet until I would hear a noise then I would get spooked! :) The other cool thing about the book is that the author has a glossary at the end of the book giving the meaning of words that were used throughout the book. There is also a list of almost all the paranormal groups within the U.S. coast to coast which I found interesting. The author is the head of one of those paranormal groups. Giving this book four spooky stars!

Ghosties and haunted objects. A fun and spooky read. Even if you don't believe in the paranormal it has some interesting facts in it. It doesn't tell you what to think either, it tells you what happened, what people said, possible explanations for some things. Nice pictures as well. I do believe in the paranormal though and this was right up my alley.

A haunted butter dish that isn't where you left it? A dress that won't stay fluffed? There was even a wind-up alarm clock that made a young boy feel uncomfortable in it's presence. I've been crying myself to sleep in sheer terror ever since I picked up this modern-day Necromicon. Note the sarcasm. Where did the authors even find these douche-bags to talk to? It's like a mormon version of Goosebumps.

I loved, loved, loved this book. All of the stories about the different objects was so cool. I never realized how much I liked reading about this type of stuff.

Several of the stories I have read or known about from previous books, like Annabelle and the sailor doll.

It's an easy read and the chapters are short.

So if you like reading about the supernatural, spirits, possessed items and such, this is right up your alley.

This was interesting, but I really believe there are natural explanations to most of the stories in this book. I like reading books about hauntings but I don't always jump to the conclusion that the stories are true. Seemed like a lot of coincidences, etc. Still, I found the read interesting .

Not my usual cup of tea, but for an upcoming escape room I am putting together, I need some horror themed books. This is fine, but it presupposes that the stories are true, which I found a bit disconcerting. But, if this is the type of book you are looking for, and you are interested in the subject matter, it is fairly engaging.

This was interesting and a fun read. I felt, however, that it was missing background on the items. The author spent most of his time on the legends that follow the objects, but not about where they came from. As a history nerd, that's the part I like best.

A fun, interesting, quick read. The only part I take umbrage with is where they say that witches aren't supposed to see their reflections in a mirror because they sold their souls to the devil. That may be the old perception, but there is no devil in witchcraft.

This was a weird read and I’m not sure how true these stories are. This book would be better as a time passer instead of something to satisfy curiosity.

I put this book in my bathroom but ran out of T.P and had to wipe with the book, oh well I didn't seem that great anyway. Balzano is horrible teacher anyway so his book deserved it.

I put that original ¨review¨ here in 2016. Here I am in 2019. I never actually read the book. The comment was a joke, most of the actual reviews don't seem that great anyway. I assume his students probably have all seen this. It's not really that funny now, maybe a little bit but more so just mean spirited. not that I care. i´m only commenting this because I have nothing better to do with my time. Anyway sorry Balzano.

I picked up this book because it reminded me of many conversations I have had with my cousin-in-law about the TV programme "Haunted Collector". She watches it, I don't because I don't have TV, but some of he tales seemed interesting. This books seems to follow similar lines, it breaks stories down into sub-types and discusses the paranormal activity that supposedly goes on around these objects. It was refreshing to read that the author, despite being a paranormal investigator, acknowledges coincidence and worldly phenomena as the most likely causes of happenings rather than things ethereal. It was an amusing book, but until something explainable happens to me, I'm not going to believe all I read. If you like ghost stories and the paranormal, this is a book you would clearly enjoy.

This book covers stories both old and new, adding an interesting spin and even some historical facts. Chris is a great writer and Tim adds his own style to the book. This is a must-read for anyone interested in the paranormal and the residual energy sometimes stored in every day objects. I recommend other books Chris has written, especially "Dark Woods," which is all about the Freetown - Fall River State Forest and the strange activities that have taken place there, and continue to do so.

Many ghosts that you probably already heard about.

If you are new to ghost stories that may be true then this is a great beginning book for you. If you have been reading and watching ghost stories for decades like me then you probably have already heard most of these stories before. I did read the book as a refresher for ghosts about the Lizzie Borden house, James Dean, haunted dolls etc. But I did keep saying "oh, I remember that one".

Warning, the photo on the cover is scarier than haunted objects described in the book. Balzano needs to improve his writing skills and storytelling. The stories were vague and its seems like he didn't know how to tell the story to give it a fear factor. You get a better history of a haunting and how it affects people's lives on shows like ghost adventures and the haunted instead of this book.

I am really enjoying this book. The format is cool and it is one of the only compilations of actual haunted objects. I wanted to find a book on haunted dolls but this is also cool. It's something I've been working through gradually as the stories are short and concise. Some could be more detailed, though.

I've always been a huge fan of horror movies and anything to do with ghosts or spirits. This was definitely an interesting read. The beginning wasn't very interesting, but there were some stories more towards the middle and end that were pretty creepy. One of the stories actually brought tears to my eyes. I would recommend this if you're into paranormal stuff.

This book was not quite what I expected, it just wasn't as creepy as I had hoped. Although I was happy to read a shout out to Clive Barker for Candyman AND the night I watched Annabelle I also read the passage in the book about her...that gave me some shivers. This is a collection of stories that will make you wonder even if they don't keep you up at night.

Had some fun reading about ouija boards, jinns and objects such as dolls and jewellery carrying residual energy. Covers a wide range of incidents and topics :)
