Third in a new series featuring paranormal investigators Ellen and Monty Drew. Ellen claims to possess a sixth sense but Monty, a former P.I., only believes what he can see. She views their work as a sacred mission while Monty just wants a happy wife and a paycheck.

In GHOST FIRE, Paranormal investigators Ellen and Monty Drew go to West Los Angeles for some rest and relaxation, as well as to shop for items to redecorate their home. But, apparently, there is to be no respite. Ellen is a ghost magnet, so they now have about 48 hours to solve a spontaneous combustion mystery in a haunted co-op art gallery before its grand opening in Venice, California. Spirits abound, including a flapper from the 1920s who haunts the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, the tormented ghost of a jockey, the spirit of a horse that shows up at a barbeque, the ghost of a former professor’s wife, the possession of a cab driver, an ex-nun who paints dead people she’s never met, and the accidental release of one ticked-off chupacabra spirit.

Will Monty and Ellen get roasted by the poltergeist? Will they ever get to the beach? This is Ellen and Monty Drew’s most ghost-packed paranormal investigation case yet. It is also the most romantic. Is it the scariest of The Ghost Files series? You decide!

Look for the other entries in the Ghost Files series, Ghost College and Ghost Soldier.

Another will written haunting horror ghost 👻 demon adventure thriller novel by Eve Paludan (The Ghost Files book 3). Ellen and Monty are on vacation in L. A. and visiting a former professor of Ellen's. Then the ghost 👻 smoke 🚬 begins. Ellen and Monty are investigating what is going on? The investigation leads to violence and horror for all of them but in the end the team comes through. Ellen and Monty are able to go back on vacation. I would recommend this series and various authors to readers of fantasy haunting horror adventure novels 👍🔰. Enjoy the adventure of reading or listening to books 📚. 2022 👒😊💑🏡

Book 3 in The Ghost Files series sees the Drews trying to enjoy a vacation in LA when a poltergeist sets fires in the art warehouse of a friend. They enlist the help of their cab driver who has her own psychic abilities. There are more ghosts than in previous books and they are not all a problem. Their jobs are getting more complicated requiring more of their talents to get rid of them. It is described as being more romantic than others but Monty is still just creepy. His behavior is juvenile and often inappropriate.

Ellen and Monty are on another adventure. They are trying to have another vacation together, but as Ellen is a ghost magnet, she can't avoid the ghosts. There seems to be a ghost that starts fires. As they try to find the ghost, their lives are put in danger, but they do find a new friend. Will they get out of this one?

I enjoyed the book. There were a few "glitches", but not enough to distract from the story itself.

I liked Ghost College. I liked Ghost Soldier even more. Naturally I was pleased to find that there was a third in the series created by two of my favorites, Scott Nicholson and JR Rain.

Monty and Ellen are at it again. This time they're off to Venice beach to celebrate their wedding anniversary. After the last failed vacation of theirs in New Orleans (Ghost Soldier) they could use a little R&R. When they visit Ellen's old college professor at the art gallery he's preparing to finally open, they get more than what they bargained for. The gallery is haunted and what's been lurking around for the past six months, unsettling people and setting fires, isn't Casper the Friendly Ghost.

Overall, the premise was good. A haunted art gallery? That's got cool written all over it.

I'm sad to say that I was a bit disappointed.

The story itself was ok--a ghost jockey, a horse spirit, a miffed chupacabra. Some of it is a little off the reservation but for a paranormal series, things like that are normal. I think it was a case of me not liking the author's style.

This is the third different author to work on these two characters in this series and as a result, Monty and Ellen read differently than they did in the previous installments. Honestly, I found the dialogue to be a little stiff and forced at times which only made me feel that the characters were, well, stuffy for lack of a better word. Being that Monty is the point of view character, dialogue is the only way to relay Ellen and her professor's past and sometimes the exposition feels forced. There were also a lot of repetition of words and phrases. Things like 'paranormal investigations' and 'electronic paranormal investigation equipment' and 'seance barbeque' being used over and over and over again. This may be seen as a nit pick on my part but it really starts to stick out after a while and takes me out of the story because I'm almost looking for it to be said again.

This isn't meant to bash the author (I always say this when my reviews may be a little more on the critical side). It's just my honest opinion trying to cite examples as to why I didn't like the book as much as I would have hoped.

I like the series and the boiler plates for the characters (the scientific skeptic and the true believing medium with psychic powers) overall. I also think it's VERY cool that Nicholson and Rain give other writers a stab at their creations. This one just wasn't for me, however.

I really enjoyed this book. It reminded me of Agatha Christie's Tommy and Tuppence with its lighthearted spirit, expect the "spirit" in this book translates into ghosts and other paranormal beings. There's a love story here, too, that's a bit different. The dual protagonists are middle-aged, still deeply in love, protective of each other, pals, partners in hunting ghosts, and an all around enjoyable couple to spend time with.

The setting was enjoyable to relax in as I read it, yet there were enough thrills and excitement of the paranormal type to keep me awake and engaged in the book.

My world view was not shaken and turned around by this book, nor was that what I wanted when I dug in. I wanted an enjoyable entertainment that didn't insult my intelligence or prove a total waste of time. I got what I was looking for and enjoyed every minute of it.

I am not entirely sure how I feel about these books. I love the characters, Ellen and Monty, but I think the thing that disturbs me about each of these books (not just this one in particular) is that they feel (and read) like they're all written by different authors (which they are)... I mean, perhaps it wasn't quite as noticeable between the first two books, but in this third installment, I could really feel it. It's not a completely horrible thing, but to me, it did affect the story a bit. Let me say also though, that this is not a deal breaker for me, and I will be looking forward to getting my hands on the fourth installment of the Ghost Files, as soon as I can, to see where this newest chapter in the lives of Ellen and Monty ends up.

This book was a little strange. It almost seemed like it was written by two people. One, who was all about creating the romance between Monty and Ellen. The paranormal plot was a little weird, but suspenseful and multi-layered. I felt like the author wasn't comfortable in Monty's voice - perhaps being a woman - as he came off "thinking like a girl", in my opinion.

I enjoyed the first two books of this story more than this one.

Ghost Fire is the third book of in The Ghost File series. It just seems no matter where they try and take their vacations something paranormal follows them and the adventure begins. This one was more fun and had a lot more characters and different ghost adventures. I enjoyed it very much.

Third of the "Ghost Files" series which I got as a free download of the set of three novelettes. Again, interesting and well developed characters, fun read and liked this one as well as I did the first of the three.

Third in the series, and very enjoyable. A tad heavy handed on the loving romance stuff between the lead characters, but that's just me probably. Very worthwhile especially if you enjoyed the first two books.

(This review may contain spoilers).

I think this book and number one are the best of this series. Each of the books (even number two) were light, easy reads and I liked the characters. I definitely intend to buy book four sometime soon.

The characters seemed to have lost their entertainment fun loving characters, story was just too unbelievable and way to mushy for me! UGH, wrecked a good series going!

Not near as good as the first two books. Way over-the-top romantic scenes and the writing left a lot to be desired.

I liked the concept of the story, but the characters were a bit too twee ands the writing was rather pedestrian.

This is the first book in this series that I have read, but I will probably get the others. Good mix of humor, paranormal events, and personality.
