Author Christie Anderson did an awesome job of slipping in back story details so well that I didn't even realize that I was reading Book 2 without reading Book 1,which I didn't do on purpose. There is never a dull moment in Sadie and Rayne's story.I really enjoyed this read and can't wait for the next book to see what happens next.
At the beginning I felt bad for Ash. I thought he was a good guy and then he starts to prove me wrong.Although he is torn due to circumstances beyond his control and all he really wants is to be good enough for his father, his actions are do not come with well intentions.
I love Rayne and Sadie but at some points I wanted just scream at them to just be honest about their feelings.Besides that Rayne and Sadie are very likable characters.Sadie seems to be a weak girl in need of constant saving but in the end she finds her inner strength. Rayne maybe strong and but he also has a sensitive side which bring depth to his character.
Rayne and Sadie try to get back to a "normal" life after a very traumatic incident that leaves Sadie a little shaken. But Sadie is strong and is determined to move on from that nightmare like it never happened. The only problem is that other people have plans that may keep that from happening. And this time it may not just be her life on the line but her mother's too.
Ash lost his mother and now he may have lost his father.Ash can't deal with the pain so he will do anything to make his father proud of him, even if it means to continued the life of crime his father has started.Ash has his own reasons for wanting Sadie and Rayne to suffer but is he willing to go as far as his father expects him to go?Is the revenge and acceptance worth the price he may have to pay to get it?
While Ash is finding ways to torment them,Rayne and Sadie must come to terms with their feelings for each other and decide if they want to act on them.According to the Keeper Code,Rayne isn't allowed to have a relationship with Sadie. But Rayne has given up everything to keep her alive,so can he love her from a distance or risk losing his status and going rogue for love?
Sadie don't trust guys and has never been able to have a deep relationship in fear of being abandoned. She was abandon by her father before she was born and is convinced all guys are the same.Does she really believe after everything they have been through, that Rayne would ever abandon her?

THIS IS A MUST READ. Go Get it ASAP. The first book, Deep Blue Secret was a wonderful read. The second book, Rogue Wave. WOW!!! I absolutely loved this book. The world that the author has created is simply put, AWESOME. I love how much is revealed about Rayne and his home. The realtionship of Sadie and Rayne evolves and is so fun to watch and be a part of. I can not wait for the sequel. Well done Christie.

I can't believe it finished! Way too soon. Seriously! I mean i just started and the next thing, i'm on the last page! What? How?...
Ok i should stop with the drama now...So it was GREAT!!! Even better than Deep Blue Secret. More love, more action and more information both for Sadie and us. And finally Hamlin comes into view and i was imagining the reaction of Sadie's mother. I am wondering if they will tell everything to her or not. I am so ready for the next one !!!

I was thrilled to get the chance to read the sequel to Deep Blue Secret so soon after completing the book because I am honestly addicted to this series. You know what's difficult about reviewing so many amazing books? If they are in a series, I am literally dying on this side of the screen to read the next book. I bet you wouldn't find it surprising if I told you I am probably the most impatient person you'll ever meet. Waiting is not my talent so the fact that I didn't have to wait is perfect for me. This book just made me fall more in love with the characters and now I am anxiously awaiting the next book. This is why I should only read completed series. LOL I'm joking.

Rogue Wave by Christie Anderson picks up right after the ending of the first book and it starts out in Ash's perspective, the son of the bad guy from the previous novel. They say mourning the loss of someone you love can push you into the darkness and this seems to only prove it. As the darkness overtakes Ash, Rayne and Sadie live in blissful unawareness of the horrors that await them. But Sadie is tried of pretending to be a couple with Rayne who claims that their love is nothing more than the Healing Water's bonding properties. She wants distance from him. He wants to be with her, no matter the consequences. Love can do that to a person, even when they are in denial. Finally she gains enough nerve to push him away, however it is at the wrong moment. Evil has its sights set on Rayne and Sadie and it plans to make them pay for their past deeds. Now, her mom is involved along with her mom's boyfriend who seems to be playing for the wrong side. Everything gets more complicated as lines are drawn and betrayals occur. But nothing could've prepared Sadie for this. Will they survive this fight against darkness and time? What will become of Rayne and Sadie as they face separation? Will love conquer all or will evil prevail?

Last review I praised the quality of the world this author created and I was thrilled that I actually got to see more of this world than in the previous book. I think it is easy to take for granted the work put behind the creation of this story but I can tell that this world is more complex than I realized. In some ways, I kind of want to actually believe this world exists. When I start thinking that, you should know that I love the story.

Sadie, the main character, grew up a lot in this story. She struggles with the desire to just let things be what they are with Rayne because of the deep connection they seem to have. She is hurt that he seems to put up some sort of line between them and she hates that she can't cross it. Her feelings keep getting hurt because she can't act on them and so, I was thrilled when she took a stand. I was worried that she would never put herself first in these stories. In someways, I agree that selflessness is an important quality for all main characters to have because once they become selfish, it's almost like you can't handle being around them. But I think a healthy dose of perspective and selfishness is needed for any character to survive. I feel like I am going about this all differently than I typically do but she needed to find herself. She is still the same people person she was in the first book and I love the fact that her group of friends always seems to be growing. She seems to have a million friends, yet she never forgets any of them and she is just as close with one as she is with another. I wish I was that capable. It's an admirable quality. She is still extremely protective of those she loves and I think this sense of need to defend them has only grown stronger. She would jump in front of a car to save her best friend if she had to. That is probably what I love most about her.

Her mom still plays a huge role in the story, which I am grateful for. I always hated when parents slowly fade into the background as series progress and suddenly it's as if the characters never had a parent to begin with. I love that her mom is just as important in this book as she was in the past one. She still works as a nurse and in fact, she is dating one of the doctors that works in the hospital as well. Of course, this dating was with Sadie's approval and even urging. She shows a great deal of strength as she stands up for the man she is growing to love and struggles to maintain her relationship with her daughter. I can see a lot of Sadie's personality in her as they talk, fight, and bond. I think her heartache was the hardest to read as the series has continued and I hope that Sadie will never have to face the same fate that her mom has. She is someone that I think everyone can admire and adore. It makes me grateful for my mom because I can see my mom in this character as well.

Rayne, the boy with the sparkly green eyes, has now become a major character in this story and a lot of his background comes to light as the story progresses. He actually gets to have a lot of time as the narrator of the story, showing his emotions as Sadie pushes him away. Throughout the story, he makes a lot of mistakes but it seems like she seems to balance him out. He allows her into his life, determined to keep nothing from her now that he has realized the truth about his feelings. He is in love with her and he will do anything to keep her by his side for as long as she will have him. All of his protective qualities still remain in this story and that causes a little tiff between the two sweethearts as they struggle to protect one another from danger.

Hamlin, the Ambassador for the place where Rayne is from, plays a huge part in this book instead of remaining in the background like he did in prior books. I got to learn a lot about his role in having Rayne placed with Sadie and the relationships that created such a toxic environment between Voss and his own kind. I loved the opportunity to get to learn about such a mysterious character. He seemed like such a puzzle and all I wanted to do was solve him. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book when it comes to his future and his story. Now, I know about his past and I do not dislike him anymore than I dislike Rayne. You'll find out what his role is once you read the book.

Ash is the bad guy for this novel which I have a really hard time with. I hate when people grieve so much that they lose their sense of morality and right from wrong. He is such a sympathetic character that I had a hard time wanting anything bad to happen to him and I knew Rayne would be hurt if something did happen. Even though they had a falling out, I know that they still care about each other underneath it all. At least I hope they do. Perhaps that will be the saving grace when this all comes to an end. I got to see a lot more of his devious, manipulative, and dark side that definitely should have scared me away but instead I felt pity. I felt sad that his grief pushed him to this point. He deserved to be happy but he apparently didn't see it that way.

I can't wait for the next book. Read this series and tell me what you think. Who knows, maybe you might like it just as much as I do!

I like the 2nd book of The Water Keepers series much more than the first one. It also has much more romance. Both Sadie and Rayne are fighting their feelings for each other, believing that they are just effect of Healing Water. I liked how much Raynes life was revealed during the story. One the other hand as much as I hate Rayne's former best friend Ash I also feel kind of bad for him. He was under instructions of his father Voss, who wanted nothing but bad things to Sadie and Rayne. Overall it was good reading.

Get ready for Sadie's first kiss!!!
This is the second book in Christie Anderson's, The Water Keepers series, and I definitely give it an emphatic thumbs up! This book starts 5 months later with Sadie trying to keep up with her physics class in preparation to go to UCLA, where she has already been accepted.
The relationship between herself and Rayne has not changed much, with both of them trying hard to fight the emotions that they feel for each other. Sadie is still questioning her feelings for Rayne, "I would not let a man's love ruin me, not like my mother. Falling in love only led to heartache and abandonment." Sadie's dependence on Healing Water will force them to be in touch daily, and it makes it difficult for both of them to be so close to one another. Just as Sadie's mom had started to date the handsome Dr. Jansen, Sadie is beginning to think that he may have a dark side.

In this volume you will learn details of the background story, and it that makes everything fit together so perfectly. You will be immersed into the life of Rayne, his family dynamics, his home city of Banya, and the planet of Ambrosia, and Rayne's climb to become an Advanced Water Keeper. You will also learn about Ash's background which is focused mainly on his damaged relationship with his father, the most feared criminal in the city of Banya, and how he is now being groomed to do his father's unfinished work. The story of Voss (Ash's father) and Ambassador Hamlin during their time studying at the Academy in their youth, will be explored, too. You will discover that the location of the threshold border is much closer than Sadie could have imagined. You will also be introduced to a character named Derek, a cousin of one of Sadie's close friends, who gets too close for comfort according to Rayne. It will again bring out his strong protective duty to care for Sadie, mixed in with his own deep feelings for her.

Of course, there will be a typical teenage slumber party, and a beach bonfire in the mix, but most of the book, you will be enthralled with all the action as Sadie and Rayne are thrown deep in the mystery of stolen Healing Water, and with that, keeping the knowledge of Ambrosia a secret to everyone on earth for the sake of all its inhabitants. Much will depend on Sadie's fear in trusting Rayne, and it won't be an easy task for her. You will be held captive in their story, and like me, ordering the next installment - Ambrosia Shore (The Water Keepers Book 3)!

Excellent Story!I couldn't put it down for a second and I can't wait to read the next in the series! Christie Anderson is a brilliant author who fills her books full of intrigue, danger, romance and suspense and makes you feel like your right along the edge right along with her characters.

Rogue Wave is a heartwarming and gripping story the second in Christie's Water Keeper Series, About Sadie and Rayne. Its been 5 months since the terrible night Voss kidnapped Sadie and 5 months of pretended bliss with Rayne as her fake boyfriend. Everyone believes they are the couple of the year, but Sadie knows the truth and each day its killing her a little more inside. She must do something for the bond between them makes her want him more everyday but what they feel can never be as it would be braking the keeper code.

Rayne would do anything to keep Sadie safe, she means more to him then him own life and when the healing water she needs everyday to live starts to go missing Rayne starts to question if he is really capable of protecting her. When Sadie is attacked and threatened by Ash, Voss's son and Rayne's oldest friend, its like their whole world starts to fall apart. Would Ash really do anything to hurt Sadie? and Why would he be doing all this in the first place?

Hurt and confused Sadie and Rayne must stick together to find out the answers for their water is in short supply and without it Sadie will die and Rayne isn't about to let that happen for she means way to much to him and its about time he told her the truth...

Loved this book! Christie Anderson is a smashing author, I loved the character of Sadie and Leena, this mother daughter duo rocked! as a mother myself with two daughters and two sons I can only hope to have half the kind of relationship these two do. I really enjoyed Christie's style of writing their where several flash backs in the book and I enjoyed this aspect I thought it lent alot to the story. The flash backs weren't to long and drawn out either like some books tend to be and I liked this alot, they were the perfect length with just enough information to let you know what you needed and then moved on with the story. Christie Anderson is awesome and I can't wait to read more of the series!

A good read even the second time through. Not as exciting the first time reading it. Still fun still a lot going on. I’m using it as a pallet cleanser.

Sadie is quite immature and needed a lot of reassurance from Rayne. Definitely a teen.

I do like that this book reveals more things about the water system. The love story gets better.

A little annoyed at the two instances where men are in a closed place with a woman and get into trouble unintentionally.

Content: I think there’s only like one curse word and only kiss kissing. There is violence and blood and revenge, etc..

I did not love it. But I gave this book a 4 only because it gave me nightmares so it must have been okay enough to transfer into my dreams. lol
I found myself however liking it more then the first book with more action but then soon I got bored with the 250+ bipolar relationship between two teenagers. But then again this is written for YA so I guess I should have suspected it.
The beginning and end wasn't to bad. the middle dragged on far to long...kinda like my review.

Romantic fantasy

Enjoyable romantic fantasy. As enjoyable as the first. There is plenty of mystery and action as Sadie and Rayne's romance is blossoming but there is danger for both them and those around them. Can't wait for next in series.

This is another Water Keepers stories following up on Sadie and Rayne. The plot carves out what should be a usual life for a seventeen year old and takes it into the realm of fantasy. Lots of adrenaline pumping scenes that you can't read fast enough to find out what happens. Whew!

I can say I really, really, really loved this book. I did like the first one Deep Blue Secret a lot, but this one just takes off from there and becomes absolutely amazing. I just love Rayne so much. Can I have one? He is perfect.

This book stayed with me so much, I kept dreaming about it, and thinking about it, and had a book hangover. I didn't even want to pick up another book, but I had to, as I have more review books to read, all ones I want to read, but that just tells you how much I was already missing this story. This is not just another paranormal romance, its way more than that. It is very unique, not vamps or werewolves, or shifters, not witches or any other creature you can think of, its completely unique, and I found that refreshing. I loved it.

I loved seeing how much Sadie grew in this book. I always liked her, but grew to really like her more, and really care what happens to her, and to Rayne.

I loved the way this book was written, each chapter would be a point of view from one of 3 characters, I think it was only 3, Rayne (which was great getting inside his head) Sadie, and even Ash. I found Ash to be a broken guy, he really does these things out of his own pain, and from the mistreatment of him from Voss as he was growing up. We get to find out more about that too.

I am going to try to keep this spoiler free, but can say, if you have not read book one, it may give away some things, but doubt it's enough to spoil anything.
I liked how in this book many questions are answered that we get from book one. We learn more about where Rayne is from, and about Sadie's father. I liked the twists and turns and the on the edge of your seat feeling that this book brought.

I can't stress enough how awesome it is. This story will touch many types of people. If you don't normally read paranormal books, I think you should still try this one (and Deep Blue Secret is free at Amazon anyway, no risk) as its not like you think. In some ways you can think this more of an almost sci-fi/mystery type book, with romance. I don't know. It's just unique.

I am not going to give a summary or anything, the blurb does that well. I want to say that the book is very well written and a joy to read.

I highly recommend this series, and give it 5 stars out of 5, more if I could, lol.

I was given a copy of this book for my honest review.

Rogue Wave is the second book in The Water Keepers Series, written by Christie Anderson. I gave Deep Blue Secret, the first book in the series, a five-star rating, and I also give this book a five-star.
Out of the three books I’ve read in this series, this one has the most romance. There’s still plenty of action and another main plot to this story. However, the two main characters explore and decide what to do with their feelings for each other. All of our questions about their relationship gets answered in this book.
The story is very creative and original. The teenage characters act true to themselves, and I enjoy Sadie’s relationship with her mother and Rayne. There’s just enough action and romance to balance this series out.
The only negative for me was how easy it was for her to believe the worst of Rayne immediately after he disclosed his feelings for her. I have a similar moment in one of my own novels, and as a writer I know why it was done. I just didn’t think he looked guilty enough. However, that did not take away from the story at all, and I still love it.
As for my conservative clean rating for this being a young adult novel, I give this my squeaky clean seal of approval. There are no curse words, the action and violence are not filled with blood and gore, and the romance is very sweet. I’m highly impressed with a certain scene within this book, as the writer had to make a decision on how far the young couple would go. I read many young adult fantasy novels, and I’m often turned off by authors thinking teenagers can’t control their hormones or make good decisions. I’ve even read a book where the young couple got into a heated argument over a trivial thing as a way to keep them from succumbing to temptation during a night alone. I applaud Christie Anderson for how this was handled in the book. It was believable and well done.
I highly recommend this series, as it keeps getting better. My favorite one is Ambrosia Shore, and I’ll have a review on it soon. It is very different from the first two, and I’m looking forward to the release of the fourth book in the series.

It is a good book, but there are some issues I have with the character's choices. I'm not quite convinced of those choices because of how they are written. Some of the characters lack depth. I'm not convinced by the characters, Sadie and Rayne. By book two we should have some idea of the depth of their feelings.Their love seems like the normal stereotype "book love", except for the unique storyline about Rayne coming from another planet/healer. What is the connection? Sadie is immature and Rayne seems like a push over. His whole purpose on Earth as a "keeper" is not fully explained. To watch over her and heal people. This leaves me not understanding the heart of Ambrosia. The hows and whys of Ambrosia (Rayne's homeland/other planet) is lacking some understanding. It may get addressed in the next book, thus keeping us guessing like the main character, Sadie. I would think we would see a lot of this information in the second book?
Other than those issues I had, the book is unique in its idea and has a selflessness/world-aware approach. The characters talk about, if you had the power to heal people and make their lives better, would you? Also tied to this question is another question. How well do you handle power? The people of Ambrosia are getting apathetic to the people on Earth and not wanting share what they take for granted. How well do you think society handles the simple things given to them. I live in a comfortable nation where sometimes I take things for granted that people of other nations lack. The book brought up some great questions!

Finally, we have some answers!!

After reading the entire first book and half the second, my questions were finally answered. I understand that the author kept us in the dark until Rayne told Sadie everything, but still. A book and a half is a long time to be left in the dark about what's really going on. I was seriously getting bored with the whole thing, but hopefully I'll be able to enjoy it more now.

I really love the world Christie Anderson has created and I'm very sad that she waited so long to reveal this new world. I feel as if the whole series would have been more interesting if she wouldn't have kept everything so cryptic and unknown.

I still really enjoy the characters and I like the chapters switching from one person's perspective to another. It adds insight to what's going on from all sides and fills the story in a lot better. I also think the author paints a pretty picture and writes really well.

Like I said, the only issue I have with this series is the long wait and the fact that I had no idea what was really going on until halfway through this second book.

Either way, I'm excited to continue on to the third book.

The book was really good. Rayne was a definite improvement. Rayne and Sadie have a complicated relationship. One second they're kissing, the next they're telling each other that they shouldn't be together. The friendship between Ash and Rayne continues to strain as Ash commits mistake after mistake.

Sadie according to me matured a lot in this story. She struggles with the desire to just let things be what they are with Rayne because of the deep connection they seem to have. She is hurt that he seems to put up some sort of a wall between them and she hates that she can't jump over it. Rayne gets to have a lot of time as the narrator of the story, showing his emotions as Sadie pushes him away. Which honestly made me quite happt! :D

He is in love with her and he will do anything to keep her by his side for as long as she will have him. The one character for whom my heart break was Ash.

Honestly he did not deserve what he got. Contantly trying to prove himself to his father backfires on him. I REALLY want him to have a story of his own right now where at least he'll find a happy ending! My next move?? Alreading going for the third installment. ;)

So we continue our journey... with book two. This story had some 'dull' moments for me, but it kept the story going. Rayne and Sadie works through a lot for their relationship in this book. They push each other away, then come back. Both of them have a lot of inner feelings they need to sort out before they can move on as a couple. Answers from that are left open in the first book are brought to light in this story.

Additionally, we find out more about Ash and Voss's relationship. We also are given more depth into who Voss is and how he came to be crazy. I really feel sorry for poor Ash. That poor 'kid'. Even though he did (even if he didn't mean too) bad things to Sadie, I still think he can become a good person.

So, in this story Sadie finds out and meets her real dad. Also, who is Derek? We find out in this story. Is he a good person or a bad person, that is answered also. And just as the story is winding down... or is it, all hell breaks loose....

Sadie is in grave danger and Rayne has to decide quickly how far he will go to save her...

(Source: I own a copy of this book.)
This is book 2 of ‘The Water Keepers’.
Sadie feels that she should break up with Rayne so that he isn’t breaking his rules as a water keeper, and is worried when she catches Dr Jensen talking to Ash about healing water.

While the first book was just about okay, I really struggled to get through this one.
Once again this story was predictable, it was long, and it was actually pretty dull. I did think that there wasn’t quite as much unnecessary stuff in there, but the big info dumps were real killers. So many of the things that happened just made me roll my eyes, and the constant love/hate thing going on between Rayne and Sadie started to really annoy me. I spent most of this book being bored, rolling my eyes, and sighing.
The ending was kind of confusing, and we were then left with a cliff-hanger again.
Overall; worse than the first.
4 out of 10.
