Born and raised in Arkansas. After wandering the world for 17 years (okay, it was Memphis, but it felt like another world!), I've made it home again. I live in a small vine covered cottage on the shores of a 8,000 acre lake with 2 dogs, a bitchy parrot and my fisherman husband. Live is good.

I love prequels, especially when there is a backstory in the original book that isn’t presented. It’s like a longer version of a prologue. I couldn’t wait to read this one. I loved Texas Two Step and couldn’t wait to see how their love story began.

The Prequel tells how Mitch and Livie started dating and gave insight into how Mitch really felt about Livie then. I really wish it would have went into detail about her pregnancy and his first marriage, but it was still really good. I think it was basically a perfect beginning to a perfect story. I can’t wait to read the next book in the Texas Montgomery Mavericks series. I really don’t want to have to wait until November to read Travis’ story.

This is the beginning of the Texas Montgomery Maverick series, book 0. It is the story how Mitch and Livie began. This book give you the story of how they meet and the back story of how they got to Texas Two Step book 1. I could not put this book down once it was on my reader. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Hope this series grows as big as Texas, cause I want to read more about this family. Recommend to all cowboy lover and lovers of family series. Happy Reading.

This story got me so hooked on what is a great series. Cynthia has done a great job with her characters showing their feelings so well that you feel right along with them. Second chance romances are one of my favorite reads and this book leaves you having to get the next one in the series so you know what happens.

A short but nice introduction to Texas Two Step. I'm very much looking forward to reading the actual book. I already like the main characters and I look forward to seeing what has actually happened to them in the six years since this prequel.

So this is where it all began. I enjoyed Olivia Montgomery and Mitch Landry and the fun, love, and heartache during college.

I confess I read Texas Two Step first and curiosity had me picking this one up. I am reviewing them in order though. So tomorrow you'll see that book here. Both books are free, so plan to continue on.

This book starts the Whispering Springs, Tx series with Mitch and Olivia attending college in Dallas.

It's Olivia's and her best friend Emily's birthday and in order to uphold the Montgomery tradition they go to the bar where her brothers had their first legal drinks.

Emily also meets Wes and they immediately become an item. Mitch and Olivia start off a bit slower, but wow that first date!

A quick read that is an OMG cliff-hanger, which is why you should just go read the rest of their story.

Girl walks into a cowboy lawyer bar. Girl meets Boy (again) Boy realizes Girl is younger sister to his frat brothers and good friends. They fall in love and don't live happily ever after. What?
This is a love story that will take some doing and some time to work out the obstacles.
In this brief prequel you learn how it all began.

You'll like the characters and as you continue to read the series you will fall hard for them all.

This is a sweet romance that seems like it is going to have a happy ending until Mitch decides to break up with Livie at the end. It makes you ask "what happened" and then the author gives you a brief overview of what the future holds and you can't wait to read the next book to find out what happens. You look forward to when these two loves reunite and fate runs it's course.

Cynthia D'Alba gives us a quick insight to young love

This prequel is a fun entry to the Montgomery family series. I found this after having read the 1st book in the series. Reading the entry was fun after having devoured the story. Cynthia has given us a flawed hero that is strong, sexy and identifiable by his unique sent. Yum yum

Just a Taste

Two young adults, drawn together...it's just a tiny taste of what is to be. There's not a lot of space for character development or plot anchors. It ends but with heavy suggestion more is to come...looking forward.

A wonderful story until it wasn't. Olivia was delightful throughout. Mitch was good in the beginning. Heart-wrenching end.

Easy-to-read. Romantic. Steamy. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.

Texas Two-Step is our introduction into the Montgomery Family. Olivia Montgomery and Mitch Landry meet when they are attending Southern Methodist University and fall in love. However, when Mitch graduates Law School and moves back to home to help manage his family’s ranch, he decides that it is better for he and Olivia to go their separate directions.

My heart broke from Olivia. I cannot image how I would feel if I were expecting a wedding ring, only to be broken up with. I cannot help but feel for Mitch – he only wants the best for Olivia but he rips her heart out in the process. I cannot wait to read Texas Two Step to find out if they make their way back to each other.

Short intro for Texas Two Step.

Mitch is frat brothers and friends with the Montgomery brothers. When he sees Olivia, sister to the Montgomery brothers, all grown up, the sparks fly and nothing will keep him from dating her. Until he graduates, that is.

Olivia has been in love with Mitch ever since she was in high school. Celebrating her 21st birthday with her best friend, he was the last person she expected to see. Wanting nothing more than a life with him, after the years already spent devoted to him, all of her dreams and her heart are crushed by the man she loves.

I can't wait to read Texas Two Step.

I liked this as a good set up to the series. However, I have a quibble with the timing editing. We meet Olivia on her 21st birthday plus there was a comment about the first "couple" years of college. We then go three years into the future which would make Olivia somewhere close to 24 but talks about her going to be a senior. This doesn't work for me at all. She should have finished undergrad and been in grad school or working. Also, I didn't get the feeling Mitch was in his first year of law school and most law schools only take three years. I will be interested to read how old they are in Book #1.

This book is the prequel to "Texas Two Step", book one of D'Alba's "Texas Montgomery Mavericks" series.

A little was left to be desired because I found this story so short yet it was the perfect setup for the real story.

The chemistry between Olivia and Mitch and the unresolved components of their relationship is what truly won me over and prompted me to read the 2nd book. I can honestly say that I will be on standby to read on to the 2nd book of the "Texas Montgomery Mavericks" when it's released.

Absolutely could not put this one down it was just a taste but now I want more. There characters were relatable, and just when you thought it was going to go one way it completely changed, left my mouth hanging open in shock. Like, really? That just happened? Now I have to go and buy the next book because it follows the characters and I kinda want to see how Mitch digs his way out of this one! Great job Cynthia on keeping me hooked :)

A great short read. The prequel tells us how Mitch and Livie met and started dating and how their relationship stood. It really adds to the main story but did seem to rush a little at the end. Even so I still have to read the next book in this entertaining series, those Texas Montgomery Mavericks are addictive and I'm hooked.

The author allowed me a chance to read this, and I wanted to say thank you. It is a quick read and helped to set up the next book. I loved the introduction of these characters and fell in love with them right from the start. I am anxious to find out how the stories work out. To get a glimpse at the beginning got me hooked enough to want to read the next book and the rest of the series.
