The mythical King Midas wanted everything he touched to turn to gold. But when he got what he wanted, he soon discovered he didn't want what he got! Kenneth E. Hagin has often dealt with the issue of
Rev. Kenneth Erwin Hagin, known as the “father of the modern faith movement,” served in Christian ministry for nearly 70 years.
In 1968, Rev. Hagin published the first issues of The Word of Faith magazine, which now has a monthly circulation of more than 300,000. The publishing outreach he founded, Faith Library Publications, has circulated worldwide more than 65 million copies of books by Rev. Hagin, Rev. Kenneth W. Hagin, and several other authors. Faith Library Publications also has produced more than 9 million audio teaching CDs.
I don't think Kenneth E Hagin recanted all of the false doctrine he brought into the Church through the years, such as the "Jesus Died Spiritually" teaching, however I do applaud him for making this effort to bring some balance to the extremes of prosperity teaching that the Word/Faith movement brought to the Christian Church. I do feel that Hagin's efforts are probably too little too late.
This is a great read to think about relevant to prosperity, understanding God’s direction in our lives and how to get it, the unlimited power of God’s ability to bless us financially, spiritually, emotionally, and physically if we work to seek him, understand his Word and then intertwine your life with the Word. We must seek him, work to understand, let him guide our decisions, and the Holy Spirit can do anything through us and for us.
We absolutely were not meant to be poor but thrive through him by honoring him in all that we do. And then blessing others with that prosperity while giving him all the credit and glory in the achievement while sharing with others.
A balanced approach in an often perceived tedious attempt - in today’s world, to explain the idea of prosperity. God’s stance on the issue and how everyone is expected to walk in the reality of the same.
The catch is that every idea expanded on is scripture based, so you have a solid basis for your faith. I am expected to and will walk in prosperity for the entirety of my stay on earth - spiritually, physically, materially and financially.
I acknowledge my role as a steward, and commit to being faithful to that heavenly ask - up to a 100 of what he’s given me.
This book is one of the most balanced teachings I have read on the subject of financial prosperity! Kenneth Hagin has done an excellent job exposing the truth about financial prosperity using the word of God. His approach to explaining every aspect using scripture and experience is simply one of the best exposition I have seen on this subject. This is well worth the price! Go ahead purchase it! You won’t regret your decision!
This is a good book about money from a spiritual point of view. It clearly shows that a Christian’s life is not to live poorly but in prosperity. However, prosper as in how God wants you to. There is a balance. It states about the purpose of Tithing and helping ministries, too. It is a wonderful book for you if you want to learn what is God’s purpose of prosperity for you.
A better title would be "Believers' Finances 101". Nothing about midas here but pure biblical foundation for right believing that is not at the erroneous ditches that Brother Hagin has expertly divided (as one of God's Leading Generation General he has been)
Dont be put off by the title, this is really Believers' Finances 101.
In our present state of ever increasing prosperity preachers with different messages on sowing seeds and giving, it can be difficult to know who's genuine and who's shady. The author provides a balanced view of the "prosperity gospel" with enough scriptures to back it up. I definitely recommend it for all Christians.
I enjoyed reading the book. Although certain teaching perplexed me and couple i disagreed with. Nonetheless it enlighten me and helped me have an Additional knowledge and understanding i didn't have and especially the midas story.
Excellent book. It rights many wrongs that have been taught in the church about prosperity. Highly recommended for its wise and scriptural balanced teaching.
Great book. Hagin pretty much just pulls up every Biblical reference to money or wealth or prosperity and lays it out for you to examine.
The conclusion he brings you to at the end of the book is, yes, of course God wants you to be prosperous, but that doesn't always mean "the world's" definition of it. When Jesus left for heaven, he said he was going to prepare mansions for all of us! And in the Lords prayer, he ask that "Thy [God's] will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
So of course God wants us to be well off! Look at the blessings of Abraham. But the Bible also says that Christians are guaranteed hard times just because they serve God. Paul's life shows that well enough. But when you look at Paul's life overall, he was clearly a fulfilled, prosperous man!
God sends prosperity to bless us and meet our needs. But even more important, He prospers us to make it possible for us to help carry out His work in our communities, our nation, and throughout the earth. If we fail to understand this, or forget it, I believe we run the risk of losing the blessing. ~ Kenneth E. Hagin, The Midas Touch, p. 165
This book's aim is to present a balanced view of prosperity. I don't think it fully accomplishes this, but it does present many insights from the Word of God that deal with prosperity. It makes an effort to present both extremes: God wants us to prosper vs. God does not want us to prosper.
This book brings a balanced teaching on how God wants us to prosper and live in his abundance. This book is not about getting rich or a quick guide to wealth. This book teaches that God wants you to prosper in life. He wants us to be connected to a local church and how in so doing we can eat the good of the land. There are many ideas of what prosperity is, especially in America. We go from one extreme to the other. This book will help any Christian find balance in God's word when it comes to the tithe and giving. This is an excellent read.
This book is an excellent and balanced book on prosperity.
It highlights from scripture, God’s will concerning prosperity among Christians. It also exposes fallacies and gimmicks used by pastors to steal from the masses.
