Alexander and his friends will have to work fast to stop Stermont's latest monster!

My seven year old son really enjoys these books. He still like a lot of pictures so these chapter books are nice as they pretty much have pictures every page but a nice in depth story. He is already excited for the next one.

My son asked me to read this book because he has enjoyed the series so far. When we started, I read them out loud to him. Now he can read them himself and finishes a title in a few hours. Great beginner chapter books! Interesting mysteries and monsters!

The things that the monsters are made out of in these books are quite clever. My six year old son loves this series!

{My thoughts} – Alexander and his friends receive some empty striped boxes that only contain bubble wrap. Although it is strange to them, they all seem to disregard it. The next day they go to school and all take their empty boxes with to help with packing up the school, since they are moving to a new building. Finally they will be able to go to school in a real school as opposed to the old hospital that they were currently going to. It’s strange for sure but it adds to the interest factor of the series. I am for sure gonna miss that particular setting.

Once, they have the school all packed up they have the start of summer field trip at a local museum. While they are there they end up encountering a Bubble Wrap Warrior. Apparently the Bubble Wrap Warrior is our for revenge because it doesn’t like how the bubbles on bubble wrap are all popped and then tossed aside. So it decides, that instead of keeping things safe it is going to help things disappear. It also decides that it will make a theft at the museum.

It is up to Alexander and his pals to figure out what is going on and to stop it before it is too late. There is so much that happens within the pages of this book, that it is going to leave you in awe! It was a nice read and l look forward to reading more books in the series in the future.

The SSMP spends their final day of school packing things up for the move out of the old hospital and into the new school. Someone shipped all the kids in the community striped boxes with nothing but bubble wrap inside. And then things start disappearing. Alexander is convinced there's a new monster around, but what could it be?

If you ever needed an excuse to pop all the bubbles in bubble wrap, you should read this. This monster is probably the most sinister one the gang comes up against, merely because it is the only one that can talk back so far. Another fun adventure with the SSMP that will give lower grade readers who think they want to read horror (but probably aren't ready for anything truly scary) just the right level of mysteriousness.

Notes on content: The bubble wrap monster threatens the kids but they manage to deal with him in a way that isn't gory or violent on their part, and that diffuses the situation quickly. No one gets hurt. (Unless you believe that popping the bubbles of bubble wrap hurts it.)

The Super Secret Monster Patrol takes on a mystery overnight at the museum. Is it a monster? Or is it the museum's famous mummy come to life?

George and I LOVE this series and this book does not disappoint. It is funny, fast-paced and fantastically illustrated. We can't get enough. We happily re-read each one. As an adult I find the plots a little obvious but that does not detract from my enjoyment of watching Alexander, Rip and Nikki work it out. George is hooked on every line. The characters are hilarious and totally original, even the secondary characters. We find Alexander's dad particularly fun. It works wonderfully as a read-aloud book, but middle-grade readers would love it as well. Even if they are a reluctant reader the illustrations will help keep them motivated to keep reading. George can sit looking at the illustrations for an hour.

This book would be good for kids in Grades 1-3 who like horror. It's an easy read and part of a series, so if kids like the first book, they'll probably want to read them all. But this was book #6 in the series. There are a lot of drawings mixed in with the text, so that might be appealing to kids who aren't thrilled about reading. I wasn't too fond of the story itself. But then again, I'm not in elementary school, lol!

Not remotely scary. And sometimes that’s exactly what kids need. Many of the characters (Alexander’s father comes right to mind) and pictures are goofy, but pleasantly so. Actually, the monsters are kind of cute. These books would be fun even as read-alouds.

The main characters are Alexander, Rip, and Niki. A box was delivered to everyone in town, and it was striped rainbow. They were empty except bubble wrap. The bubble wrap turned into bumby mummies for revenge of popping them. The bumby mummies stole things. They made a secret base inside the world's 2nd loudest koo-koo clock. I liked this book, because they were moving to a new school.

But since it's the last day of school, there is a sleepover at the museum. A creepy mummy has plans to steal a valuable gem, and it's up to the Super Secret Monster Patrol (S.S.M.P.) to thwart his evil plan of heist and revenge.

I will never think about plastic bubble wrap the same way again. Loved the story and bumpy mummy. Great story progression. I think each story is becoming a little more intricate. I especially liked the way the mummy was defeated.
