Juliana St. Clair. is an artist and has enjoyed benefits of a genteel southern upbringing. Then suddenly her father dies, Juliana and her younger sister Callie must leave the advantages behind running from desperate fate in the south towards uncertain future in the West. As they travel into Indian uprising in New Mexico- Juliana finds herself torn between attraction to the rugged captain of there wagon train and the protection offered by a debonair politician whose motives and passion run far deeper than he reveals.
Juliana goes on a political intriguing adventure and the romance that will mark the dangerous journey towards faith and love in this historical drama.
I thought the characters were great and the romance was wonderful. I couldn’t put the book down. ☺️
There were some sentences that caught my eye.
Juliana said the captain was a unreasonable rude arrogant brute and he was pig headed (haha that thought was a little funny 😂)
There was a few more
How could Matthias Grave be so charming but yet he turned out to be a jerk😢
toward the end of the book I almost cried because Parker (the captain) almost died he was the real charmer and he survived 😁
