Vaja-Pshavela (1861-1915) was born in Pshavi, in Georgia. His language is powerful, easily understandable, and permeated with Pshavi-Khevsureti dialect. The three poems here translated from the Georgian were written at ten year intervals during what many consider the peak of his creative "Aluda Ketelauri" (1880), "Guest and Host" (1890), and "Snake-Eater" (1900). 6.8.5", 112 pp.
