After Mary Ann and Louie come home from the fist day of school, Grandpa regales them with the tale of his first day of school. His school looked like a gothic mansion and Mr. Smeal, the teacher, looks like a lizard. His disposition is surly and he loathes hearing the sound of chalk squeaking. But grandpa gets his revenge.

We were first introduced to this author because of the scholastic DVD collection. Great style, great relationships, fantastic books
