Count Your Blessings is an inspirational picture book for beginning readers. This book is 32 pages in length and the genre is religious fiction. Danna D. Cooner has written rhythmic sentences that tell children to count their blessings and see what God has done for them. There are many bright colors, and large pictures of kids doing daily activities, such as playing soccer or going to the beach.

"Five, six -Colors to mix" (p.13). This is one of my favorite quotes from this book because I am a visual artists. I also believe that my ability to draw and paint is a gift given to me by God. This book tells kids to always remember to be thankful for what they have. Thankfulness is a positive theme that is mentioned throughout the entire book.

I gave Count Your blessings five stars because I believe that it is effective in what is is trying to teach young readers. A book that teaches the principal of gratitude is great to read at home and in the classroom. I would highly recommend this book for any beginning reader with a Christian background.
