When I got this from the library, I had to check its publication date (2005) because I could swear it was from the 1970s. I realized that it’s because of the preponderance of orange and brown, even a room that the author describes as soft pink (p 78) looks very brownish to me. I am almost convinced that glue guns produce bond that are “stronger, and often more durable” than “using a sewing machine, a staple gun, or upholstery nails.” And then I wonder why professional upholsterers don’t forgo staples for glue guns, huh? I’ve done the staple bit many, many times. Next time I might try the glue gun. Much of the designs in this book are not my taste but it does show where one might go! Unfortunately, I think so many of the unadorned pieces are lovelier before the author dresses them up.
