Anna agree to go on a date what she didn’t count on was the guy being such a jerk when he doesn’t keep his hands to himself everything get a little uncomfortable really fast, and not really knowing how to get out of the situation a man walks up putting a stop to it all thinking it was a good deed only there is so much more to her savior. Blake sexy as all get out king of the city ruling with an iron fist, ruthless when needed, deadly if pushed and overly protective of those he cares about. The moment he lays eyes on the beauty being manhandled he steps in putting a stop it but not because he is a good guy but because she belongs to him the attraction is instant, it is intense so asking her out but she feels like she has no choice so they embark upon on an adventure but where are they headed, will she be okay with who he really is, can he convince her he is the only man for her, and can they find their own happiness somewhere along the line?.

I just dawned on me that I read this. I was reading the book and made it to chapter 3 and said wait “My homie Blake”!! He was a mafia king that was lonely ruling the world alone. When he sees beautiful Anna looking distressed and having one awful date he comes over and rescues her.
Their passions run high and the two move together in harmony. Who knew Blake could finally be claimed !!?

Maaan, this was going so well until that plot twist. That was like a huge effing bomb then she got over it after probably half an hour. I mean, it would take quite a whole lot of time for me to digest that news, but that's just me. Since this is a novella, the author has to wrap things up quickly and without focusing too much on the freaking plot twist.
Blake is a criminal lord and everyone in the city knows him. Yet despite all the power and money he has, he was lonely and knew something was missing in his life. Then one night he got stuck on the traffic then saw Anna in a restaurant on a date and very much obvious not enjoying her company. So he stepped in and intimidated the guy and basically stole that opportunity to be Anna's date instead for the night.
This is over the top absurd, literally happened overnight and had an epilogue 5 years later. I don't know where Anna got her confidence that night. It should probably be amazing, a virgin FMC who goes after what she wants but I found this so called confidence a bit forced. It just wasn't natural for me. And Blake was so cheesy with his lines, he was supposed to be scary and an alpha male, but he was a total marshmallow with her.
Overall, I had fun reading and this was safe.

- No cheating
- No protection
- No violence

Anna was on a date with Trevor a man that she had met on a dating app and he was definitely not who she was expecting, when he starts getting a little handsy when a voice appears out of no where the very last person that she was expecting was Blake Lockwood the City’s kingpin and a man known for taking what he wants, when he wants and how he wants. But what she sees when she looks into his eyes in that moment is protection and kindness, something that has been lacking in her life for as long as she can remember after bouncing from one foster home to another when her father died. He is a man that she should fear but that is the very last thing that she feels and even finds herself agreeing to a date with him. It was a night that was to change her life in more ways than one and she thinks that she has her very own fairytale but what will she do once she learns what this man’s past had truly already cost her?
Blake Lockwood has not got to where he is in this life being the good guy, he came from nothing and now has the life that he has always wanted, that is until he looks out of his car’s window and catches sight of her, it takes that one moment to know that everything has changed for both of them. Meeting Anna is an experience in itself, and her sassy attitude has him on the backfoot, she isn’t going to for his attention and therefore she has it. One date and he knows that there is no way that he can let this feisty firecracker leave him and he knows he will do whatever he has to, to keep her by his side. But when his past comes back to haunt him will he be able to get Anna to given him and them a second chance or has his sins ruined the love of a lifetime?
I loved Anna she wasn’t taking him for anything other than what he was and had no issue on calling him out on it so when she discovers something that he caused there is no way that she would have forgiven him as easily as she did. Other than that, this was yet another steamy read with a bad boy alpha male and a heroine that stood up for herself. 4.3* Read

Super fast, cute-ish story but needs a major suspension of reality required to stick with the story. I know it's an insta-love tale but even so - this was at warp speed. Blake is a man on a mission - and he's spotted his target - a stunning woman (half his age) who captures his heart from a distance. He pretty much steamrollers her into an instant relationship which is fine, and even sexy sometimes, but with Anna, she went from never-been-kissed-virgin to the next day calling him Daddy during oral pleasure. The twists toward the end felt a bit rushed, and could be stretched into a longer novel - slowing down the relationship arc, making it feel less wham-bam-thankyou-mam. It would make a really good longer story actually!.

When our heroine is saved from a very bad date, our hero asks her out on a real date so he can show her how she should be treated. Turns out that he means every word of it, and not just as a one-time thing.
This is a short romance story with an older/younger theme and a bit more. The story is very well written and easy to read. Our characters are also well developed and have excellent chemistry. Our hero has a plan from the moment he saw her and it is only a matter of time before she is onboard. In the end we get plenty of steam and a nice HEA epilogue. Overall, another fun story and look forward to more from this author.

When Anna goes out on a date she has no idea how much her life is going to change. When her date starts taking liberties and being fresh with her a man steps in to rescue her. Unknown to Anna her hero is none other than Blake Lockwood the notorious kingpin of the city. In exchange for helping Anna all he wants is for Anna to go out on a date with him it's not like she has a choice he helped her plus who says no to Blake Lockwood. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this steamy story to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Did not finish.
The writing was meh. It felt like it was written by a newbie even though i know the author has written tons of books already. This is only my second book of hers and i already know I’m not reading her anymore.
The kingpin doesn’t talk like a kingpin. He doesn’t feel like a kingpin. Sounds like a whiny man who got bored with what he has and found a shiny new toy. Heroine doesn’t feel as though she’s properly afraid furing their first encounter. Her lip quivering was the only indication of her fear, which soon gave way to sass? Really?!🙄
And the dialogue is so painfully cliche / repetitive of all other romance stories.

Blake is a mafia boss, he is feeling lonely at the top. He sees Anna when he is driving home sat at a cafe on a date. He knows from the second her sees her she is his!! Anna is on a terrible date when Blake comes to her rescue. She knows she should be scared of him but she only feels attraction. Hot, steamy romance with amazing chemistry, a determined, possessive, protective hero, a little misunderstanding and a wonderful HEA.

Anna knows who Blake is when he rescues her from a bad date. Everyone recognizes the criminal kingpin. Blake instantly wants her when he sees her and has no plans to let her go, especially knowing how innocent she is.
The only real moment of contention between them is glossed over pretty quickly and given what it was, Anna shouldn't have gotten over it quite so quickly.

This is certainly a page turner. The story is short, hot and steamy. A bit of an age gap as the MMC is the king pin, and the FMC is a college student.
We watched how the king pin saw his future, stopped and stake his claim. The MMC made it easy for the FMC to fall in love with him but that small twist in their story put a bump in their happily ever.

An incredibly fun over the top read. Blake saw Anna getting assaulted on a date and had stepped in to save her which was not within his nature as the kingpin of the city but something about her had compelled him. From there, he shows Anna what a real date should be like and from there they fall for each other.

Anna softened the emotionally empty Kingpin. Blake was a smooth alpha male that one his lady over by being truly himself. His good bad ugly self. He has a terrible secret could destroy them as a couple but they still have their happily ever after. This book is one of the more in-depth Rose books.

The 3rd act climax was... anticlimactic. He killed your dad. You cry and run away. He follows you. You get in a car accident. Then you just walk away together, holding hands and grinning at each other. Wtf? 😂
I read these little insta-love novellas a lot. So, I'm well practiced in letting unbelievable things slide. But this. 🤦🏽♀️ I can't. Lol

It was okay. I just didn’t vibe with it. Blake is the city’s kingpin and Anna is a young college student he sees on a date with another guy. She is young and inexperienced. About 75% of the way through they pulled out daddy kink. Which I don’t like. Just wasn’t filling it and looking forward to the story finishing up. It does have a HEA after the 3rd act break up.

I absolutely love the newest book by the amazing Jenna Rose. Anna is on a terrible date when Blake helps her out of it she is in for of the city, and he will do anything to keep and protect her. I loved their story and perfect ending. Always a five-star read from this incredible author.
