Natalia Malveaux has a successful magic shop in the French Quarter and her practice as a medium and a witch is known far and wide. Her little house in Algiers Point is the place where she has her garden of magical herbs and crystals, and where she goes to rejuvenate after a busy day tending to her clients. According to her late mother, her powers came from a pirate witch by the name of Siobhan Briody. Jamie Daly is a busy solicitor in an Irish village along the Atlantic Coast, and the only magic he inherited from their bloodline was his ability to read people and tap into their emotions. His sister Erin was the one with all the power, but it's gone haywire as of late. When one of their ancestors shows up in his sister's pub and interrupts his evening pint, he is the only one who could see her. Their two paths cross when Jamie is sent to New Orleans to find and bring back one of the descendant's of the original Coven of Sisters. If all the descendants don't return to Ireland to come together as a new, modern-day coven, all of the powers which were bestowed upon the bloodline by the faeries will be lost forever.

What's not to love about this witchy read? I was hooked immediately when the first pages told of a witchy family of magical daughters in Ireland being dispersed to far-off lands just before the Great Hunger of 1845. Then it gets even better when the story unfolds with a descendant living in present-day New Orleans. (If you love the French Quarter, you'll want to arrange a return visit after reading this book.) This story has it all...ancient prophecies, spiritualism, Irish folklore, historical references, and heartwarming characters. I loved this book and hope there is a sequel coming soon.
Natalia is a medium/witch who runs a shop in New Orleans that she loves. Jamie is a lawyer from Ireland who is tasked to go to New Orleans, find Natalia and talk her into going to Ireland with him so she can join other witches in order to rejuvenate their energy that was separated hundreds of years ago. Natalia's gifts suddenly start to disappear, as Jaime starts to gain gifts he's never before had. You will be lovingly pulled into this fantastical journey, and you will never want to leave!
Fantastic! Teresa Keefer has given us a fantastic read! I was pulled in on the first page. She starts out with the ancient lore of the coven of eight sisters and brings us to the present. Natalia,a modern Witch in New Orleans, is a descendant of one of the original eight. A devilishly enchanting ghost, her very own ancestor, forces Jamie Daley from Ireland to fetch her her back! From there, it just gets better! An absolute must read!
2.5 stars. Didn't draw me in enough to want to finish the series.
Also, having your long-dead ancestor magik you into having feelings for someone just hit me as kinda 'icky'. It was like be roofied by your great, great, great grandma's magic.
