This is THE best book available on the subject of building and flying Indoor competition models. This book begins with the EZB model, then progresses through Penny Plane on up to FAI FID microfilm models, with Manhattan Cabin models thrown in for good measure.

The book is dated to be sure, there are better techniques and materials available today compared to 35 years ago. Nevertheless, there is no better book to get an understanding and feel for what indoor flying is all about. The book is as much about the mindset as it is about the doing. In it's own way the book also serves as a history of what I consider a truly fascinating hobby/pursuit.

There is an updated version of the book, published by the author, and I was pleased/relieved to see that all the original content remains.

For the curious: A Penny Plane is 18" wing span, and weighs one U.S. penny (3.1 gram)
An F1D weighs as close to nothing as the builder can get - about 1.5 grams.
