A splendid read! However, do be prepared to take your time to make your way through this behemoth of a text (nearly 600 pages). Despite it's length, Kyle does a spectacular job of keeping the book very digestible. In terms of coverage, it presents a remarkably unbiased view of the events of Suez, with ample of coverage of all perspectives (except the minority Soviet perspective acknowledged as lacking in the intro itself). The text also does a fantastic job at covering the intricacies of outcomes of the policy and preceding in history in an again, remarkably nonjudgmental way. Definitely a worthy read for British scholars, those interested in the history of the key water way, Arab scholars, and even French, American, and Israel-Palestine scholars. Exceptional!
