Fun fast And easy to read. The author Really holds your attention to the story and the teams are not quick to trust each other. The auther takes his time with the caricatures development. It is just an overall fun read I don't care if you're 80 or 8 you would enjoy this book actually you'd enjoy the whole series.
This is a straight forward jump in for a ride , you get about what you expect and a few fun surprises along the way, with a ninja as the main character with supernaturals all around him of course some things are going to end up beat up and unhappy' I will probably come back to follow up on the smart ass ninja to see what he is up too now and then , and this is probably a better book than I am giving it credit for as it does have everything it needs... its a quik enjoyable read'
An interesting novel with potential, but plagued by a MC who chews the scenery. His "voice" is so loud it drowns out the narrative and the other characters. He is incredibly condescending and patronizing, both to the other characters and to the audience / reader. And he is no where near as smart and clever as he thinks he is. I wonder if the author meant him to be a caricature of a testosterone driven braggart.
I really enjoyed this book! It started out a bit slow as the characters/ concept were introduced, but then it turned into a fun read. I'm anxious to see where the series goes from here...I'm thinking as the author develops, he can make quite a good series out of these characters.
I LOVE this book and have a new all-time favorite author! I don't want to give anything away, but I'm pretty sure Bobby is going to give me Black Dragon's car.
DON'T LET THE COVER ART PUT YOU OFF! Talk about a wild ride!
When I was younger, I might have been able to read this but not now. It is too wordy and the paragraphs too long, the characters are stereotypical, I didn't like the protagonist, and there are too many errors. I like more sophistication and got a little bored.
On a positive note, the underlying story seems fascinating, and the characters and scenes were so well described I knew pretty much exactly what they looked like.
To be fair, like most modern TV shows, I don't think I'm the target audience.
Filled with troupes. The main character is prides himself on being annoying and that is annoying. His team is introduced only to be vengeance fodder or harraesd.
