As a child, Oda was inspired by Akira Toriyama's works and aspired to become a manga artist. He recalls that his interest in pirates was probably sparked by the popular TV animation series titled Vicky the Viking. He submitted a character named Pandaman for Yudetamago's classic wrestling manga Kinnikuman. Pandaman was not only used in a chapter of the manga but would later return as a recurring cameo character in Oda's own works.

The One Piece Complete Collection is nothing short of epic. Eiichiro Oda's world-building, character development, and emotional storytelling make this a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Watching Luffy and his crew grow from small time pirates to their current level is deeply rewarding. The payoff for long-running story arcs is incredibly satisfying. It’s a massive commitment, but absolutely worth it for fans of rich, character-driven storytelling. A true masterpiece of manga.

One Piece will be king of all manga’s always. There’s so much to say about this universe but I’d rather keep it to myself, no spoilers. You only get to go on this adventure for the first time once. Do it before it’s too late.

Caught up to it when it was at chapter 996. Have been reading each new chapter since, give or take occasional lapses. Great fun stuff, somewhat muddled politics considering how focused on social commentary it can get. Luffy is one of the greatest comic characters ever.
