The stories and anecdotes of satirist, internet comedian, and beloved San Diego spoken-word performer Alex Bosworth are reprinted for the first time in this collection of his most popular pieces. A children's reenactment of the Lincoln assassination becomes improvisational performance art, a disgruntled raccoon calls for a coup d'état on the human race, and the author's frozen body is jettisoned into space from the surface of Mars in just a few of these odd tales of improbable memoir, bizarre one-liners, and surreal absurdism. The warped terrain of Bosworth's ongoing inner monologue is ready for exploration in a book Franz Kafka calls “Absurdly funny… pointless.”
Alex Bosworth was born in a house he built himself in suburban San Diego, circa 1965. He began writing fiction at ten and was encouraged by his parents to share his work with unwilling audiences. He has kept up this practice for nearly forty years in lieu of gainful employment, and continues to perform at coffeehouses, book stores, and coin operated laundries throughout Southern California.
