This book is quite a useful resource for trainers albeit somewhat dated. It is helpful to have the German translations of common English idioms to hand. I use it for advanced learners by asking them what idioms they can think of with, say the word "hand". I can if necessary, then help them by reading them the German translation from the book. For example, what English idiom with the word "hand" in it means "Zeit zum Vertrödeln haben" (answer: "to have time on one's hands".)
