Very cute and sweet. I think this would actually be a help for couples who are so busy that "intimacy" (read: sex) becomes another chore to fit in. Good way to reconnect with your partner in a low-pressure way.

Small gripe: there is a disclaimer about how "he" and "she" are used for clarity of explanation, but it would have been easy enough to say "Partner A" and "Partner B." Most of the couples illustrated are young, white, and I think all are hetero. Mix it up a bit for the next edition: race, gender, and age. Older couples whose sex drive might have diminished seem like a prime target group for this book.

I finally sat down to read The Cuddle Sutra cover to cover, despite having given it to my beloved way back in 2008. Be perfectly clear: this book is pretty bereft of "valuable" content; it's fairly unlikely that you're going to see a cuddle diagram that you wouldn't have figured out all on your own. Despite having been written by a bona fide man, this book is cutesy, it's silly, it's twee, and the entire thing is pink, inside and out.

However, I am a big fat romantic mushball, so I can't bring myself to give it lower than three stars. If you take it for what it actually is, which is a glorified greeting card – you know, one of those ones from the artsy fartsy gift shop with the long poem on the front that makes you say, "Oh my god, this describes us perfectly!" – then The Cuddle Sutra is actually kinda perfect for gifting to your honey.

N.B. Despite the fact that there is a variety of hair styles, hair color, and clothing (and facial hair on the men) – with some slight variation in body types, the cuddle models in the illustrations are pretty uniformly white. I think I saw one person that could have possibly been construed as Asian, but that was it for any real racial diversity. The cuddle illustrations and descriptions are also 100% heterosexual, but thankfully, he disclaims that deftly in the introduction.

I found a PDF of this online. Why did I read it? Rmv. Perhaps this can help me complete my 2013 Reading Challenge.

This was a really cute book that really is a celebration of cuddling! The diagrams and descriptions are pretty clear and there is a little humor in the descriptions that was fun. I personally think there are a lot more potential ways to cuddle, but this is a great list of some great positions to try.

The one thing that really bothered me about this book was the lack of diversity. In terms of race, the characters in the illustrations appear to be largely white with a handful of BIPOC characters. This interpretation may just be due to the way some of the illustrations are colored, some have specific differences in skin tone while others are more monochromatic. In the introduction the author explains that he is basing his descriptions off of the illustrations and using “he” and “she” to differentiate between each cuddler, but that being said all couples in the illustrations appear to be in hetero relationships. I wish that there was some LGBT+ representation or even representations of other kinds of relationships where people may cuddle (familial, platonic, etc.). I would love to see a version of this book with more diversity - opening up the kinds of relationships would even allow for more cuddle positions (such as a kid and their parent since body sizes will vary more).

I appreciate this book for what it is and it was a cute read but I expected a lot more from what I had heard about it.

Whilst some of these positions are a bit on the awkward side or things that maybe many wouldn't want to do or feel comfortable doing, I did enjoy that there were a wide range of different ways to lay with your partner, and how cuddling IS the most intimate of intimacies where you can absolutely do soul-searching with your partner as you feel their weight on you. I will definitely be trying out some of these.

The title hints at salaciousness, but don't be confused: this is strictly about cuddling. This lightweight book (I saw another reviewer compare it to a glorified greeting card) reminds us of the benefits and delights of cuddling--and may even give the reader a few ideas for ways to cuddle that you haven't thought of. Makes a cute gift for an anniversary or Valentine's day and is fun to pull out from time to time.

Popsugar 2022: 24) a book you can read in one sitting

Very cute little book I picked up at Dollar Tree the other day, thinking it might give some ideas for my husband and I, as well as some creative writing prompt ideas.

A review from 2017 on the first edition commented that the illustrations we're mostly white cis-het couples. The version I have is still full of cis-het appearing couples, but there is a lot more diversity in race in the updated illustrations.

This was a super cute little book. I particularly enjoyed the bed and couch snuggle sections. The public snuggle section seemed a bit much for public for most of them. It was also annoying it was a “him and her” cuddle for all of them, the author did apologize for it in the intro but said there were no other options but I can think of a lot of other options. But still a fun read with some new cuddle ideas even for an avid cuddler like myself

Long list of cuddle positions. Not all position are useful. Some position are very much natural and there is nothing to learn from it. Still this books gives an idea that how many different ways you can cuddle

Silly yet fun. I gave it to my husband on our wedding anniversary. We went through it together and noted a few cuddles we can add to our arsenal. It showed us that we're already a very cuddly couple!

4.5 stars. I recommend this and I’d definitely read it again or reference it, at the very least. It’s a simple book, very easy to read, and I found the illustrations satisfying.

The Cuddle Sutra by Rob Grader
This is not your ordinary book. Grader takes you on a physical journey to end all physical journeys. As a person, there are things you think you are great at but then someone comes along and just blows your “talent” right out of the water. It is embarrassing, yet comforting knowing you can better what you thought to be perfect.
Grader elaborately mentors you in ways you never thought possible. You can clearly imagine yourself doing as is said by this elegant genius. While you’re reading your mind will slowly start tricking itself that you have been cuddling all wrong your whole life. But fret not my beautiful pupils for this is not something to be ashamed of, this is for you to study and learn to become the best you that you can be.
I have never been into books but I can truly say i have never been touched by a book like this one has touched me. Just the pure elegance of this guide to glory has thrown me back to my childhood days of unpolluted ecstasy. Now if you plan on being dull and boring or eternity then go ahead and don't read this book, but if you want full enlightenment then you would be a fool for passing up the opportunity to delve into the poetry that is this book.

Meine Meinung:

This is a must read for people who loves cuddling and showing public display of affection. It is a very easy and fun read. It is a very decent book and don't let the name of the cover fool you.

The content of the book will make you think and wonder. At many a times; people often forget the simple acts of love and intimacy. They will do everything in large scale and often over the top. This book will make the reader remember and realize the true and simplistic nature of being in a relationship and/or in love.

For best results, let your significant other read it as well. Then read it together. Perhaps there are things worth exploring together.

I read the whole book in under 15 minutes and sighed...

I have highly enjoyed browsing through this book again and again. The sweet and romantic flavor of it makes me with to spend even more time with my cuddle buddy. I have given my paper copy to a friend after buying the ebook as an "on the go" reference. I plan to take it out and read it with my sweetheart one morning or evening that we are cuddling together and see if it can inspire us with some nice position to use in different times!

Just what it sounds like...a cuddle version of the kama sutra. Fun illustrations and great talk about the intimacy of cuddling. Check it out from the library and then decide if you want to add it to your home bookshelf.
