McFly has been my favorite band since I was around 12 years old. They got me through everything and because of them; I met some of my best friends. These four boys mean the world to me and reading this made me understand and respect them so much more. It also brought me back to the best two days in my life. In September 2012, after waiting 7 years for them to come to the United States, I finally got the chance to see them in concert front row twice, meet them and hang out with them.

Dougie is my favorite in the band and has been since the beginning and reading about his secret was heartbreaking. He is so strong and the fact that he came through it is inspiring.

I loved everything about this book. I loved how it was written like having a conversation; it felt very personal and honest. It reminded me how much I loved them and I didn’t think it was possible but this book made me love them so much more. I thought I knew a lot about McFly, but it turns out I didn’t. Even if you’re not a fan of McFly or never heard of them, I would definitely pick up this book!

I wanted to give this book five stars simply for the introduction. Possibly one of the best and most funniest introductions to a book I have ever read. And the rest of the book was pretty good too.

I was expecting this book to be similar to other young musicians books in that it would be in a glossy format with loads of pictures and not much writing when in actual fact it was the total opposite. This is a 300+ page full of writing and is not a 'cash in' book like other young musicians have released.

Instead it is a funny at times, sad at others and honest all the way through read that any McFly fan will love. I'm not a huge McFly fan and have only ever really listened to their 'hits' over the years however I love autobiographies and if I have even the slightest interest in the subject then I will give it a go and read it.

Definitely a book that McFly fans will love and one that even the most hardcore of fans will learn something new about the band after reading it.

This is the best book I've read for ages (for obvious reasons) ;)
Full of laugh out loud and cry your eyes out moments, it's a must-have for every McFly fan.

The book starts off with a prologue where the boys we all know and love are in a hotel, where they are each given massages which start off innocent and turn into awkward sexual encounters. Typical McFly.

The book is then separated into thirteen chapters. I like the way it's set out; each member have a paragraph where they talk about things from their perspective, and their name's are written in bold so it's clear who's talking.

In the first chapter we get a glimpse of their childhood and I found out a lot that I never knew before. The second chapter is about how the band got together and it's obvious that McFly were meant to be and they put SO much effort into the band that they deserve the success that they have achieved.

There were some moments that I enjoyed more than most. These are the moments that stood out for me. (No spoilers)

• When McFly started I knew that Tom and Danny had already started the band and when they held auditions for a drummer and a bass player, Dougie and Harry stood out. But in this book we found out it was a lot more complicated than that.

• There's a very detailed story about the “fling” between Harry and Lindsay Lohan which I found very interesting. I only heard a brief account of it at the time during an interview.

• Remember when Tom went through that phase where he had black hair? Back in the Wonderland days? Well Tom was going through a dark period back then, but to avoid spoilers all I can say I'm glad he changed back into his usual chirpy/hyper self.

• When you see McFly, you see that they're best friends and they love each other like brothers. You can't imagine them arguing. But like all of us, they had their moments. We are told about various heated arguments, especially between two members. That surprised me. But those arguments probably brought them closer together.

• Tom talks a lot about his relationship with Giovanna, and they've been through so much together as a couple. I’ve always thought that Tom and Gio were a perfect couple, and from what I read, I was proved right. I can see them as one of those couples who have a long, happy marriage.

•There are a lot of saucy moments that will please every girl out there who's fantasized about McFly and had sexy dreams about them (one of my embarrassing confessions).

It took me just over a day to read and I found out so many things about the band that I feel closer to them than ever. There are pictures that are exclusive the the book (you should have seen Dougie's hair when he was younger *sniggers*) which are accompanied by hilarious captions. The cover is amazing, and when you take off the dust sleeve there's a blue background and cool pictures of the band on the front and the back cover. When you open the book there's a black and white collage of old tour flyer's and pictures of backstage passes. This book is very artistic inside and out. Plus the title is amazing and fits perfectly with the content.

If you think you know everything about McFly, then think again. Or as Dougie says “THINK again.”

Now, I used to love McFly. You could even say I was obsessed with McFly. Those days are now gone, but something still perked up some interest, so I decided to read the book. And I'm happy I did, it's lovely to read about all the things that were going on behind the scenes during times I still remember. It's a funny book too, and quite moving. I think partly because it's so honest. And while I think that's great, personally I'm not sure how much happier I am knowing all that went on. The picture in my head was much more rosy-coloured, and that's a nice memory to have. It feels strangely like reality slapped me in the face.
Besides, it's not really a beautifully written book. It's interesting, sure, and I wouldn't say it's awful, but I felt like the sentences were chopped up oddly here and there. And it seemed like the author tried to build bridges between different parts, but kind of failed in that regard. I know doing that isn't always easy, but I don't feel like it flows organically. Writing based on interviews is different from writing to write beautifully of course, but some parts felt so cheesy it irked me a little, and I wonder which words the boys actually used. Do they really sound that trite? I don't know, maybe I've just become a snob.
So like I said, an interesting read, but only because I used to (and still do, a little bit, kinda,) love McFly so much.

For any fan that has followed them throughout their career, i just had to buy the ebook, especially as when i watched Alan Carr: Chatty Man and what was said about Dougie - Him being my favourite - i had to know why he wanted to do what he tried to do.

There were so many things that as a fan i didnt know about. Especially the downward spirals, the really heated arguments between two of them, and the real story about how they got together.

I read it in about 3 hours, i would say - I couldnt put it down and after reading it, its made me rekindle my love for them once again. Although I am probably considered an older fan, i have loved them since the very beginning, going to see them on tour etc and although i am older now, they will still have a place in my heart as i was such a teenie bopper for them in my young days.

Dougie will always be my favourite, and reading about his dark side, i had tears in my eyes and i really didnt want to read about him wanting to *beep* himself and his time in Rehab, but i pushed forward and it makes you think about how many other bands have these private secrets that the public dont know about. Glad they all came out the other side happier and closer.

Suddenly I just want to be 16 again and revive the feeling of coming out of my first McFly concert ever, with my best friend next to me, unable to say a word to each other because we cannot believe what just happened.
Look, I couldn’t stop smiling reading this (except during _that_ part).
Once a fangirl, always a fangirl. The older I get the harder it is to get that feeling (iykyk) and this book made me feel it so, 10/10.

//

#26: Memorias.

Bueno.. xdd

It's fair to say that McFly/McBusted fans will get the most enjoyment out of this book, but anyone who has an interest in music and/or 'celebrity' (urgh) will learn a lot from this book. The level of honesty from the boys is what makes this stand out from other biographies out there. Between them they've been through mental health issues, addiction, and a LOT of women (Danny Jones, I'm particularly looking at you as I type this last bit). They've also had a ridiculous amount of hits all over the world and have survived ten years at the top of their field. They write songs for other artists. They produce music. They've done (and won) reality TV shows. Tom is a youtube sensation. They've even been played in space for crying out loud.

The boys take it in turns to tell the McFly story throughout Unsaid Things which makes for a pacey read and I defy anyone not to laugh as they read it. Fans have always known they were exceptionally funny and this book just proves it. Honestly, for a band that is made up of four very different guys (I want to say boys, but they are men now...so I'll stick with guys as a happy medium) they are all hugely entertaining-different enough to have their own identities but similar enough to share the same daft humour and wordplay.

I was close to tears at numerous points whilst reading. Each member has gone through their own difficult times and the pride that I get as a fan seeing how genuinely happy they appear to be at the moment is immense. On a personal level I was especially touched by Tom's descriptions of depression. This is something I have gone through, and will probably always be going through, myself and his descriptions of the feelings he experienced really resonated. The 'alien at the window' is something I can understand- my own depression and anxiety is worse at night- and the fear of bed because of the emotions you know are going to haunt you is something I can empathise with completely.

Reading Unsaid Things has made me even more excited for the McBusted tour and I cannot wait to be at the Sheffield gig on 19th May jumping around like a loon.

And Danny, for what it's worth I can forgive you your playboy antics. Even though I wish I had been part of them ;)

I have been a fan of McFly's ever since I saw them in that little Lindsay Lohan movie "Just My Luck" and found out that they were a real band. Fast forward 6 years later, and I finally got to see them perform live at one of the two shows they did in the US.

This is one of my favorite bands around. They've never lied about who they are or come across as something else just for fame...and this book shows it. Written by all four members, this autobiography starts from the beginning and takes us through all the ups and downs of their fame. I'm not going to lie, I didn't know a lot about their personal lives so this book really opened my eyes. There were stories about heartbreak and hobnobbing with other celebrities, but there were also stories of family struggles, drug and alcohol abuse, mental disorders, depression, and suicide attempts.

I loved everything about this book. How candid and honest the guys were and it just made me love them more. A must read for all McFly fans.

An Entertaining, laught out loud, touching, light read!

I loooved this book! McFly has been my favorite band since I was like 12, when my best friend and I discovered them. Through the year,
Initially, when the book came out, I thought it was one of those tipical celebrity/band books: written my a completely different person, published just for profits and with no content whatsoever. It turned out to be the very oposite.
Alternating the pov of the four members, the book really tells the story of the band. Starting from their childhood, and how they came to meet each other and started the band, and their trajectory, both individually and as a group.

Once a McFly fan, always a fucking McFly fan.

I absolutely adored this book. I don't know if it was their rockstar stories, the fact that I still remember when half the things happened (but from my own point of view), their relationship with each other, the fact that they're still normal people with problems, or if I just love McFly.

Each of the four boys tells a part of their story, really giving it a unique narrative that flows extremely well.

They talk about their struggles to keep the music true to themselves all the while growing up and becoming the men they are today. They definitely live the lives of stars, with all the amazing experiences you would expect and then some. What I really loved about the book are the parts about their personal lives. I absolutey love how strong their relationships are with everyone in their lives, it's something we can all aspire to have.

But what really spoke to me were the problems and struggles that were going on within themselves. Even though they were no doubt living the high life, they had some pretty low lows to accompany the highs. Reading about their personal struggles reminds you that although their fairly famous, they're still people. I can say that this book could not have arrived at a more perfect time in my life because reading about how they got through their problems really helped me. Even though this is a book about McFly who we know and love, I think that anyone really could relate to their story.

So thank you, McFly, for getting me through another rough patch. I now have a newfound respect, understanding, and admiration for them all.

"After all, they are a band on tour. And someone has to live like a rockstar, right?"

McFly are my first love. I took this book with me to Spain when I was on a fieldtrip with uni; I read it from cover to cover and absolutely enjoyed every word. My heart melted when Tom was talking about Giovanna, especially if you put this in line with his wedding speech and the many videos about baby Fletcher - which is due this month! My heart broke during Dougie's chapter, and for the sake of spoilers I wont discuss that here. Harry still didn't reveal with he slept with Lindsay Lohan (sorry for those who are reading it hoping he did). And Danny talks about Georgia in the most loveliest way - and of course they're engaged now and according to their personal twitters, have started planning their wedding. - Just Dougie to go; I feel like he will be Peter Pan forever. Dougie talking about what each of the boys taught him just makes me fall in love with them all the more.

If you have been with McFly since the beginning or only recently this is something you should read, Ive met these boys three times and they are honestly the nicest boys Ive ever met. Every word conveys how much their fans mean to them, and I think that's why its so important for their fans to read this.

When you've finished listen to McFly the Musical (if you haven't already done so) from McFly At The Royal Albert Hall.

you know when you think it's not possible to love someone more than you already do? well, that's what i thought before i started reading unsaid things.

i haven't cried this much since i read the fault in our stars (and i cried a lot with that book you have no idea). i don't even know how i made it through the great depression and dougie's secret without curling into a ball and crying my eyes out. God, this book was perfect in so many ways that i don't even know where to start. It was like having a chat with the guys. It's so weird to feel like you're a part of someone's life when they don't even know you, but this book does it. They make us fans a part of their lives, letting us know all the demons they had to face, how they fought, and how, in the end, they won.

I'm so glad they had (and still have) each other and that they found the love of their lives because most celebrities that go through the same things as dougie or tom don't have anyone, so the fact that they were there to help each other throughout those difficult times makes me realise i'll never stop loving them because bands like this stick with you forever.
I'm so proud to be their fan more than i ever thought i could be.

special thanks to maru who lent me this book and to whom i'll return it all wet because of my tears
i'm sorry haha

I have loved mcfly since they first released 5 colours. At first their music was catchy, and I enjoyed pop (despite what may be credible). But as they've grown, and I've grown too, the changes they've made with their sound have always felt relevant. On top of it all, and the reason they have such loyal fans, is that they seem so genuine.

And reading this book was in some ways, so strange, because it was almost like watching a giant, candid interview. They made the same jokes, teased each other mercilessly, yet obviously had such strong bonds that all GD's will know and love.

There are secrets revealed in this book, particularly by Tom and Dougie, which upset me to read. They were both forthcoming in the book about their own situations, but to know they couldn't express it to their fans before got to me. There's no shame in anything they'd gone through. But despite it, they have gone on together. You can see their support for each other so clearly, the way you could at the time (Tom and Giovanna going to the jungle and supporting Dougie every day, the way they flooded the Strictly stage when Harry won) and I hope that remains. Mcfly are a band I can see going for years to come.

It's a worthwhile book and not just for fans. It definitely made me love them more.

A great book for McFly fans. There's so much in here that I didn't know. Funny moments, beautiful photos, heartbreaking times, stories of the songs and friendship overall.

This is the story of McFly since the beginning. The boys tell each of their stories growing up, the origin of the band and everything after that.

I really miss McFly's concerts. I wish they could do more. But at the same time I love that they're all so happy. I'm so glad I read this, I wish I would have read it sooner though!

This book was absolutely incredible...words can't describe how much I loved it! I couldn't put it down but at the same time I never wanted it to end. Even if you're not a McFly fan I recommend you pick it up, it's very interesting. It gives a lot of insight into the music industry and the effect fame had on 4 teenage guys trying to find their sound and own unique style. It was hilarious, and really sad at the same time.

Me hicieron reir, llorar y luego volver a sonreir.

I finished reading Unsaid Things and I can say that I loved! I cried, laughed and was amazed at all that the boys lived, life puts you so many proofs that the only thing left is to overcome, be positive and think that everything happens for a reason and everything happens for what comes in the future is much better! I wanna congratulate McFly for being a unique band and for doing such an excellent job.....and I can only say that I'm proud to be Galaxy Defender!! xx

I have loved this band since I stumbled upon their album just my luck in 2006. Their dedication to their music and their fans is something I have always admired. This book gives an even greater insight into their lives as both individuals and a unit. I learned so many interesting facts about what makes up the group McFly and it truly strengthened my love and respect for this band. This book is a must read for not only McFly fans but any fan of music really.
