Ashley Huffman Clark is a survivor from Ohio who shares her story and struggles during her 20 years of prostitution. She started at just 14 years old and recently got out in early 2019.
I devoured this memoir as quickly as I devoured her first memoir. I found Ashley on Tiktok a while ago and immediately was drawn to her videos telling us stories of her past. This book focused on her years of prostitution and we learned the difference quick between a Dave and a John. It turns out the Dave's were into some wild/bizarre stuff.
Ashley has come so far in her journey and I am so proud of where she is now in life. She is thriving and all of this is behind her. She beat drug addiction as well as got out of the world of prostitution. She deserves the world and I will be here to read a third book if she puts it out. Thank you for another wild ride, keep being you and never stop sharing your story.
"And I always took the fuck off with their money. Hell, if they’re dumb enough to TRUST a street rat with their fuckin’ money, they deserve to get got, if you ask me! Fuck ‘em. That was my mentality back then."
Couldn’t finish the book, honestly not even sure why I started reading it considering the first one was awful too. The spelling and grammar is just as bad as the first so at least there’s consistency. The stories are still completely made up, so labeling this as anything true is just false advertising. Anyone with half a brain can figure out all this woman does is lie for money. This author genuinely needs help. As do whoever agreed to work on this book and publish it.
Sadly I have to give this 2 stars. I follow this author on social media and her story has always been so shocking and amazing. Her first book I was in almost tears thinking how horrible things were for her. This book just seems to be story telling of events that happened and not in a good way. Got very bored half way though and almost didn’t finish. It didn’t grab my attention like the first one did.
Incredible story, I started by following her on TikTok and her honesty and openness immediate made me want to read her books. Her story is heartbreaking, but inspirational, and I couldn’t stop reading. One story after the next I was like, “holy cow, I can’t imagine.” I really enjoyed that this book differed from her first book, in that it delves into her “Daves” and “Johns.” Ashley, thank you for being brave and sharing your story.
This book was reviewed by an editor. Through the few little errors there were, I heard a story of survival. Each and every page had me laughing a little. My eyes opened to the injustices of the police force ... As well as the resilience of a woman 👠 who kept her sense of humor throughout her trauma!
Ashley tells her story, what she went through, the things she'd done, and things that happened to her. Reading the things she went through broke my heart over and over for her. No one deserves to be treated this way by anyone. I am so proud of how far you have come in such a short period of time, I can't wait to see if we get a book 3!
I loved how raw and real the book was. Some of it felt too surreal and I found myself wondering if I was reading fiction. I’m so proud of how far the author has come from a previous life in hell. This book was definitely mind blowing and I couldn’t put it down!
So poorly written, it was difficult to get through. Self published by the TikTok "celebrity" herself but CLEARLY needs an editor. If you're not from the Columbus area, it's not worth your time. If you're local and like juicy gossip, it's ok. Just don't expect this drug addicted hooker to wow you with proficient diction.
God I love her so much and commend her for her bravery for letting the whole world in to her past lifestyle she is such a bad ass!!! And I am extremely grateful that at the ending of her book she put out help for women that are still in the life you go girl !!!!
I found this book very in-depth of the life style. It was actually a great read, kept my attention. I think the base of over coming the bad things in life no matter what difference between each person to be relatable to everyone! She kept it real!
I freakin love this woman! She is real, honest, and inspiring. Ashley as been through hell more times than I will ever in my lifetime. She tells it like it is and not afraid to be vulnerable. If you read her first book, you have to read this one.
This is Ashley’s second book. It’s an extremely quick and urban written book. I appreciate Ashley bravely sharing details of her life with us when she didn’t have to. It got a bit repetitive near the end and I struggled to finish the last dozen pages, but overall worth the read I guess.
I wasn’t even gonna add this to my goodreads, but i’m bad at meeting my reading challenge so anything helps and i did technically read it🤣🤣
Tbh i j watch this girl on tiktok and i eat up the tea. it gives facebook drama vibes and im just here for it. i wouldn’t even consider it a book. 😭😭😭😭
If her first book was heart-wrenching, this one was sick. I feel like her personality is more into this one and it just made me sad and disgusted on her behalf. It was definitely a quick read but I couldn’t stop.
To hear some of the stories and events you went through There should definitely be a program to help these girls get off the street and be able to live a better life.
This was an amazing read. Had me hooked and read it in one day. Sad story to see what women go through out there on the streets. Hope more read this book.
Ashley tells her stories through her eyes, as sad and painful as they may be. Reading her other book first will clue you in to how she got to this point.
This book was easy to read and captivating. Reading about Ashley’s story and raw honest experiences is something we don’t always get this first hand glimpse at. I appreciate her putting herself out there and even with the spelling or grammar errors i felt her story had more purpose and could easily look past those flaws.
