This is an cleanly presented all-in-one book for those looking for evidence based training. The exercises are broken down by total body, lower body, upper body, core, and functional training. Those exercises are then grouped into programs/routines based on objectives: endurance, fat loss, building lean mass, building muscular strength, and improving sports performance,

The first section of the book is the information you need to understand why these exercises work. The wording is in laymen's terms and easy to digest. You'll understand why metabolic training is so effective for so many.

The second section contains the exercises/warmups. All exercises are photographed in a brightly lit room and easy to follow. Thorough techniques, tips, instructions are given as well as the tools that can be used (e.g., kettleballs or your own body). Each of the exercise groupings contain their own chart/exercise finder at the beginning of the chapter. For every exercise, there are specifics such as fundamentals, setup, upward movement, downward movement, and variations. Several full color photographs for each exercises show how it is done and serve as a quick reference.

The third section of the book groups the exercises into routines/programs - 20 in all. These programs have detailed information about their goals as well as charts that list the name, sets, reps, resets, weights, and page number in the book. They are also ranked by beginning to advanced.

There isn't a wide range of equipment needed and many of the exercises have options/variations to provide more utility. All items listed were easily accessible in my local gym or I could create a home routine with just a few weights or bands.

In all, this is nicely presented, well written, easy-to-use, and a great book for increase lean body mass, burn fat, and stimulate your metabolism. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.
