Tanvi is stunning and calculated, especially when it comes to the ultimate revenge plan. For years, she’s used her beauty to target and manipulate men, leaving a trail of broken hearts in her wake. But when her high school crush, Jamie, fails to recognize her, Tanvi sees an opportunity to get revenge one last time. She meticulously plans to make him fall in love with her and then break his heart. She just has to keep her own heart under control. Should be easy, right? In this fun and heartfelt novel, Aja Jorgensen explores the power of spite and the consequences of letting it consume us. Can Tanvi find a way to heal from her past and move forward, or will her thirst for revenge and lack of trust leave her heartbroken once again?
This was a cute book. It’s not a 5 star for me personally. definitely belongs in a high school library. it is YA and there’s no spice. You can tell the author was very proud of this book and for that I am happy for her!
I’m someone who likes to read spoiler reviews, which there were none for this book as I was reading it. I thought I would write a spoiler review for those like me. If you don’t want spoilersI recommend you stop reading.
This book had an interesting premise. It could have been a decent book. Buuuuuut the FMC needs therapy. So much therapy. I get being jaded, but she goes out of her way to hurt people. Not just men, but women too (her friends, Mark’s girlfriend, she had negative thoughts about Amber). She does not come off as a ‘girl’s girl’. She does rude/mean/arguably unhinged things, then she sulks about people being mad at her. She gets some points for apologizing to her friends, but she did so many mean things to virtual strangers. It’s sad when you find out it was all a miscommunication/lack of communication that shaped her whole personality in the end.
Now for the MMC. Spoiler: he knew who she was the whole time. And he supposedly loved her in high school but felt she was “too good” for him and got spooked by how vulnerable she made him. The revel felt like such a let down. He knew he was treating her poorly and did it regardless. It was so unbelievable that he forgot who she was, but when he approached her for the first time he thought she forgot about him. One thing I loved about him was his degree and his professional goals. That warmed my heart.
I did notice errors in the writing and the flashbacks were placed oddly (in my opinion).
I do think the book had its moments. The FMC had a great relationship with her dad, there were some cute moments, the FMC does have a bit of a redemption arc, and I liked seeing diversity in the book.

I’ll start by saying I loved this book! If I was allowed a half star, I would rate it 4.5.
The positives: really strong female lead, amazing female friendships, and a super intriguing plot line. As everything was building toward the climax, I couldn’t wait to see how it would all wrap up.
The negatives: while I did enjoy the flashbacks, I felt at times they felt awkwardly placed into the story, instead of just being their own chapter. In the beginning there were a lot of characters all at once and I got a little confused by all of them. It was a tough to follow/ keep track of at first. However as the story progressed, that became less of an issue.
Overall I was a big fan, and I’m rooting for a sequel!
As much as I loved Aja’s first book, “Love to Spare,” I loved this one even more! Tanvi, the main character shows all of the sass and spiciness that I didn’t know I needed. This did leave me feeling like I had a love/hate relationship with Tanvi at times though, but that just seemed to keep me a little more interested.
I loved this light, easy read and look forward to Aja’s next book release, whenever that may be!
This was a fun, fast-paced read with a solid dose of drama and a unique spin on the revenge trope. Tanvi is bold, messy, and flawed in a way that makes her feel real, and watching her plan unravel kept me turning pages.
That said, some emotional moments didn’t hit as hard as I hoped, and a few characters felt underdeveloped. Still, it was an entertaining ride with a meaningful message about healing and learning to let go. A solid 3 stars!
Plot: Tanvi got her heart broken when she was in high school. Because of this, she has a chip on her shoulder and a heavy vendetta against all men. When an old high school crush doesn't seem to remember her, she decides this will be her final act of revenge against all men before being able to move on. What will happen when they spend more time together?
What I liked: I liked that Jamie gave her a chance when she wasn't being awful
What I didn’t like: a lot. Tanvi was seriously the worst. I have never hated a character so much from start to finish. She is constantly using men for her own gain and is claiming its fine because "they do it to girls all the time." Just because it's true doesn't make it right!!! She is literally feeding into the exact behavior that she despises. She also sucks because she thinks all her friends are incapable of making smart decisions. Like holy crap this girl thinks she is god's gift to mankind and that everyone should be bowing down to her and her crazy ideals of the world. Also, what the crap why is she lying about not knowing this guy? Her name is so not common. Like I am sorry, if someone doesn't remember you after a name like Tanvi, you must be pretty forgettable because it's not like she was named "Sarah" or "Hannah" or something so obviously common. anyways. I hated her so much. that is all.
Swearing: minor swear words
Physical intimacy level: closed door
Star rating: 2 stars
Trope: second chance romance

Absolutely loved this book! I would give it a 4.5! I was scared because it was a random pick off of amazon but it totally delivered! While its wasn’t crazy deep like most fantasy romance novels I read it still had a cool story.
I like how they got a second chance and how you can see how a person grows so much from high school to the end of college.
I thought the book was ok. It was a good book to listen to on my was to work in the morning. I got this book during a stuff your ereader weekend. If it wasn't for that I probably wouldn't have bought it. This would be a good book for the YA crowd. I also think that they got the wrong person to narrated this book. The voice just wasn't the right one for this story.
Super cute. Fast read. I don’t think I would recommend it but it kept me thoroughly entertained (it reminded me of my own pining in middle/high school & that part was cringe-fully nostalgic)
This drew me in right away, but while the early part was interesting, it started getting quite boring and a good bit of it felt really drawn out. It was a short book that felt longer than it was. Three stars.
Grow through what you go through. Sometimes we don’t do that as humans, especially when something hurts is deeply in our formative years. We tend to take things out on others just to feel as though we are taking our power back, but it only ends up hurting us. Tanvi learns that lesson throughout this book. It’s relatable, cute, enraging and filled with love. It’s everything you could want in a contemporary romance!
Such a fun read! Loved the characters and how everything comes together at the end! I think it really shows how we all can be sometimes but deep down we all just want to be loved and are doing the best we can!
This was such a fun read with a great message! Tanvi’s emotions were pretty relatable throughout the story, and I loved seeing her character evolve by the end! Aja has done a fantastic job weaving another story that had me flipping pages to get to the end! Can’t wait for her next book!
