It was incredible writing and a compelling story that kept me with a WW II book that was full of combat, pain and destruction, but also so much more. This is a great book that I will be recommending to others without reservation.

A truly inspiring book of two men in WWII. I found it totally engrossing. It shows that even the most demonized people of the war, the Germans, are after all human and respected the the humanity of their enemies. I would highly recommend this book.

Kept my interest from beginning to end! A fascinating story and extremely well told.
Very unusual to want to root for the enemy, but his actions earned him utmost respect!

An incredible book on WWII from the view of combat pilots and the unbelievable story of heroism that created a friendship years after the war.
