"Getting pats from this big, scary man ain't so bad after all."

A very satisfying and sweet ending to this fun series!

I'm glad I waited for the "right time" to read this because I had a blast and absolutely LOVED how Sabu started showing affection for Jin rather than just fear! The ending especially made me happy and I felt it ended on such a perfect note!

I really enjoyed reading this series and will definitely miss Jin and his "scary" faces and all the playful moments he and Sabu had together! This will be a manga I keep in my collection and come back to again, I am sure of that!

This was a great ending to a fun series. I am sad it is over, but it also feels like the story is complete.
I really enjoyed the characters and how they grew over the course of the series.
I liked the artwork and style, especially the contrast between Jin and Scary Jin. The ending was somewhat expected and also a little surprising, though I am definitely happy with it.
Absolutely would recommend this series to others.

I never expected a silly little slice-of-life book series to have the most wholesome and heartwarming ending that nearly made me tear up, but here we go.

What a beautiful ending to a beautiful series about kittenhood. What a beautiful story of love and finding who you need instead of what you want. 10/10 read!!!

I was sad to see this was the last volume of this series! The ending didn't quite feel wrapped up to me, so I would've liked to see more.

The final volume, noooo! I enjoyed this series so much, I loved seeing Sabu grow and bond with Jin and all the other rescued animals at Cafe Fluffy. This particular volume had me really emotional, especially with Sabu's short lived rehoming. I called it with Jin's scar being from a cat, haha. I'm glad everyone got such a nice ending together, Mama Jin and his furbabies forever!!

I cannot recommend this series enough for a boost of serotonin and a simple, sweet read!

I feel like I have a "doneness" radar, since this is the... third? in so many series where I've thought, wow, there's not much more ground they can cover, huh? And the series promptly ENDS.

(No, I don't check beforehand.)

Not to say that's good or bad, but considering that the main point of conflict was Sabu being scared to death of his rescuer, Jin, it doesn't feel possible to keep milking that after four volumes of it. Like, anyone—kitten or person or other—who isn't able to adjust after THAT much time really needs some treatment for anxiety.

The main reason I take a star off is it maybe could have ended in three volumes. A lot of the stories are more "cute cats are cute" and "'scary' guy is actually nice but expressively awkward" filler, and while it could have dragged out farther, it doesn't add enough to the plot to carry it another volume... kind of why I stopped reading Yokai Cats and The Evil Secret Society of Cats after one volume each. (Not that "cute cats are cute" isn't enough reason to make a book, but I have at this point read SO MANY of those that my brain craves some different content... like, at LEAST Cat Zombies or something.)

Yes, though, this volume reads as a wrap-up, and it does it well, but it DOES have to squeeze in some filler to get to a proper page count. (I do have to wonder how often Sabu's problem comes up in real life, though, to be adopted out only to not be able to adjust to the different environment.)

Cute end to a cute series, and absolutely recommended for fans!

Sabu is finally starting to settle in and feel at home at Cafe Fluffy when an older couple finds the cafe and bursts into tears at the sight of Sabu. He reminds them so much of their old cat. The couple takes Sabu home on a trial run for adoption, but are they a good fit for each other?

The back of this book says it is the final volume in the series. Sad. I liked spending time with Sabu. But it does seem fitting since he's growing up, finds his forever home, and won't be a kitten much longer. Still, I'll miss more doses of Sabu. This volume also explains where Jin got his horrible facial scars and it isn't the yakuza incident everyone assumes. Hand this to animal rescue/adoption story fans who like a touch of humor.

Notes on content:
Language: About 8 minor swears.
Sexual content: None
Violence: The incident that scarred Jin was a little bloody but not violent per se . The older couple are still mourning the loss of their former cat who died of old age.
Ethnic diversity: Japanese humans
LGBTQ+ content: None specified
Other: Cuteness overload!

Lectura entretinguda i tendra ♥

The last issue! No! I love this story! I just returned from Japan two weeks ago. While there, I purchased a Neko-jasuri comb and paw cream for my cat. He loves the comb!!! I would not have known about Neko-jasuri if not for this manga. I thought there was just about as much education as entertainment from the ex-yakuza and his cafe. I do want to know more about their adventures. I will be following this author!

So the conclusion to this mind numbingly boring manga series is that the characters are back to square one…living in a cat cafe where they have been found to be unwilling to be adopted by a family in lieu of this life of an over run animal cafe with one lone guy working himself to the neglect of his own health or seemingly any outside life/development of his own. Umm…was this supposed to be endearing? Personally I do not like this series at all.

In this final volume of the series, Sabu is pampered while watching birds, has to take a bath, and tries out a possible adoption home.

I'm bummed that this was the last book. I could have easily enjoyed a few more volumes because I enjoyed the way the mangaka explored pet experiences in groups living in a pet café. Overall, this was an adorable cozy-filled hug of a series.

More of a 4.5 star rating;
The only reasons I didn’t give this series a 5 star rating is because I wish to see little Sabu go into adulthood, and I wish for more background on Jin.
Overall, this was a very sweet and wholesome series to read.

ugh. still such a great series. the adoption trial really tugged at my heartstrings because I know how much that older couple must've wanted it to work out! but so good that they chose what was best for a young Sabu. <3

Another one with a curtness overload!!!

The way Koyuki's behavior changes is just like my Calypso's. Sweet and cute one second and vengeful and aggressive the next.
Again, pretty cute, nice artwork, lovely short stories.
Ideal for a quick, cozy, cute and easy read.

I love that this has been a short and sweet series. Sabu is so cute. I knew someone was going to try and adopt him. And I am so glad that he (and the potential new humans) knew that he was better off with his family at the cat café. I so cried. Hoping they all get to stay together.
