This is the game changing book reveals the blueprint for a second term that President Obama and his progressive backers don't want you to know. Months of painstaking research into thousands of documents have enabled investigative journalists and New York Times bestselling authors Aaron Klein and Brenda J. Elliott to expose the secret template for Obama's next four years -- the one actually created by Obama's own top advisers and strategists. Just as Obama concealed the true plans for his initial term behind rhetoric of ending partisan differences and cutting the Federal deficit, Obama's re-election theme of creating jobs conceals more than it reveals about his real agenda for a second term. All the main areas of domestic policy are covered -- jobs, wages, health care, immigration overhaul, electoral "reform," national energy policy. Each of the plans exposed seek to permanently remake America into a government-dominated socialist state. Here are just a few samples from dozens upon dozens of specific schemes unveiled herein: Detailed plans to enact single-payer health care legislation controlled by the Federal government regardless of any Supreme Court decision to overturn Obamacare; The recreation of a 21st century version of FDR's Works Progress Administration (WPA) program within the Department of Labor that would oversee a massive new bureaucracy and millions of new Federal jobs; Further gutting of the U.S. military in shocking ways, while using the "savings" for a new "green" stimulus program and the founding of a Federal "green" bank to fund so-called environmentally friendly projects; The vastly reduced resources of the U.S. Armed Forces will be spread even thinner by using them to combat "global warming," fight global poverty, remedy "injustice," bolster the United Nations and step up use of "peacekeeping" deployments; An expansive new amnesty program for illegal aliens linked with a reduction in the capabilities of the U.S. Border Patrol and plans to bring in untold numbers of new immigrants with the removal of caps on H-1B visas and green cards. Fool Me Twice is based on exhaustive research into the coming plans and presidential policies as well as the specific second term recommendations of the major "progressive" groups behind Barack Obama and the Democratic leadership - the organizations that help to craft the legislation and set the political and rhetorical agenda for the president and his allies. While many have general concerns about Obama's second-term ambitions, Fool Me Twice lays bare the devastating details of a second Obama presidency. If he wins re-election in 2012, the America of equal opportunity for all, Constitutionally-limited government, economic freedom and personal liberty will be but a distant memory.
I realized at some point while reading this book that our president was elected because we had a certain hope for him in our collective national conscience. And he and his advisers knew that the American public held a hope for a post-racial presidency. He played to our hope.
This book was one of the most difficult I ever read. Not because of the way in which it was written. That was the easy part. It was the content that was difficult to read because it was upsetting. It was sad - it made me feel bad about the way my countrymen had been scammed and taken advantage of in an election in which we elected not just a president, but we more elected an aspiration we had held.
But what we got was a very different Barack Obama than the man who had given speeches and made promises. We got the Barack Obama we should have KNOWN we'd get if we paid any attention to where he had learned to do politics, the content of his speeches showing the ways he thought about the world, plus how he had conducted himself while in Illinois State Senate.
And perhaps most importantly, like our mothers told us when we were small children, we should have paid attention to the people he surrounded himself with.
You will meet some of those people in this book. And they will surprise you. They will disappoint you. And the president most of all will disappoint because he does what he does, knowing what he is doing. He knows who he associates with and that he does it for personal gain. For power. For adulation. For the keys it gives him to be able to "fundamentally change the United States of America," as he promised in the days before his inauguration. And because he wants the people with whom he surrounds himself to continue to treat him like a rockstar and as if he is the smartest person in the room.
It's as if he wonders: Who could he BE if he was not this powerful person after all?
In these pages readers will learn more than they ever wanted to know about standard operating procedure in this White House, the way it works, and what programs the Obama administration arrived ready to plug into place. The reader will see inside the auto-bailout and learn about the unlected Czars who make policy for this White House. Then readers will be educated about the Chicago way of doing business.
That may have been the point when I began to put two and two together and figure out for myself why what we thought we were getting in this president never got delivered. It's as if there's no _There_ there.
Well before the end of the book I was disillusioned and almost didn't want to know any more about this White House. I did read on however, and was no longer surprised by the time I reached the end.
So why didn't I want to know more? Probably because I thought I knew what future pages would tell me (like opening the bill from your dentist, it's always bad news even though you know it's coming) and I just didn't want to be more upset by things I was powerless to change.
Now, given the information in this book, especially about the hollow men behind the curtain, the money wasted and political capital spent in the first three years, I keep wondering about a second term when the President and friends are not worried about his approval rating, thus can do anything you or I can imagine. Or more likely do things which are, to the majority of citizens of the United States, unimaginable. With a leader not even pretending to work within the system, instead making czar appointments for which congressional confirmation is not mandated and instead of sending legislation to the hill where it may be changed or watered down, doing whatever he wishes by executive order, this answerable to no one, certainly a second term could unveil even fewer of the checks and balances the framers of our Constitution put in place as they structured three coequal branches of government.
In the end I can say that I really enjoyed the book even when - from time to time - I was tempted to throw it through a window; generally upon learning something I was frustrated and upset to know about. But frustration aside, I think this is important information. It's well written and painstakingly documented with pages and pages footnotes and references. Those could keep you busy reading interesting supporting material for days if you wanted to know or understand more.
The writing style is clear and engaging and this book is not at all difficult reading. Actually it's harder to Face the information here than it is difficult to Read. But I still think that it's information that every American should be familiar with, especially going into an election. If you have any intellectual curiosity at all, or are concerned about what MIGHT happen next, it's not too late to be well informed about things that Barack Obama would rather you not really understand.
If one can connect the dots that the authors have arranged, and can believe or accept the theories proposed, then President Obama and those supporting him, are actively attempting to dismantle America by destroying it from the inside, working its way out, in an attempt to create a new world order. Regardless of how much or how little you agree with, the crony capitalism and incestuous relationships he has had with radical people and organizations, working toward this end, will be exposed in this book. For decades, apparently, many of those associated with the Obama administration have been involved in organizations supporting this policy. They have supported the theories of Saul Alinsky, professed to be Marxists or Socialists, and many have been funded, overtly or covertly, by George Soros. The names range from John Podesta to Stephanie Powers to Van Jones and Bill Ayers, among many other well known names. They support a policy of international financial redistribution because of the crimes we have committed as a country. According to Klein and Elliott, President Obama’s promises for America are based on exaggerations, funny numbers and empty promises. He depends on the power of his rhetoric, the propaganda he spreads in the media and a public that is uninformed, a public that is interested in handouts, which he is more than willing to provide in order to garner votes. He is bent on being reelected for a second term so he can, unencumbered by future campaigns, bring about his vision for America, with which you may or may not agree. They believe that this President seems intent on usurping the power of Congress, with a series of executive orders following through on his belief that if they, Congress, won’t do it, he can and will do it on his own. To insure that the Democrats have an increasing foothold on progressive socialist policies, he has granted rights to illegal aliens that are unprecedented. This demographic is known to vote his way and with his policies, he has bypassed Congress, and essentially, purchased their votes. Although, he promised a transparent administration, the book shows that it is through subtle maneuvers that he and his ilk are attempting to bring about this new world order. The authors presented a view on how Obamacare would be revamped in the eventuality that the Supreme Court overturned it. They were going to reinvent it and present it as a legitimate tax. The book was written before the ruling, so the authors could not have known how it would turn out. I could not help but wonder if one of the liberals on the court leaked that information to them, so that Chief Justice Roberts could write an opinion that would preserve the integrity and legacy of the Court, since he wrote the opinion that Obamacare was a tax and therefore legal, even though it had not been argued in that way and was not the case they were actually ruling on. Roberts essentially reinterpreted the case presented before them to agree with the policy Obama was pursuing. Perhaps the authors were clairvoyant when they presented that information. In many cases, even when the information presented was accurate, even startling and new, presenting signs of cronyism and misuses of power, it was hard to connect the dots the way the authors wished. The plans outlined for immigration were staggering, until the reader begins to see that much of it has already begun to be implemented. The Democrats, progressives and liberals (“a rose by any other name”) are well aware of the fact that people like handouts and if you advertise handouts, the lines will grow longer and longer and the votes will come easier and easier, and the weight of this burden for their victory at the polls, will be on the Americans who pay taxes and the immigrants who work here legally, not those looking for a nanny state. Obama has granted rights to non-citizen children of illegal aliens, which are greater than the rights of children born here, who are legally citizens. He has done this with what might amount to an abuse of power, overreaching and/or defying the Constitution. He has given himself these extraordinary rights in order to guarantee his re-election. While I might believe the authors have some viable premises, borne out by the actions of this President over the last four years, they assume too much knowledge on the part of the reader and the abundant presentation of personages, government agencies and study groups, gets confusing, at times, for the reader. It may be hard to muddle through all the names and too brief explanations which often seem murky, and many readers may not be inclined to complete the reading of the book. The one thought that may grab the reader, is this: Obama appears to be leading America down a path of failure. He wants our military to act as something akin to UN peacekeepers in foreign countries, rather than protectors of the peace in our own. The authors would have the reader believe that Obama, with his secretive future polices and plans for his next term, wishes to change America from a superpower, from a place of military might, to a country using its military and financial might to help the third world improve and gain a better foothold. Studies are cited that show that the government agencies created by Obama have already researched these efforts. He cites reports written which seem to foreshadow and foretell events which are planned to bring down the country from a military might and financial center, to a country enmeshed in global mentoring and financial support. He seems to want to use the power of America to shore up the strength of other countries, rather than our own, because he blames the ills of these countries on America, believing that whatever we have achieved in these countries has been at the expense of these countries. Other Western countries are blamed as well for their achievements, and he believes we should repay these people because it is our behavior that has brought them down. He has blamed everything from food shortages to the Arab Spring on the developed world’s misuse of the environment. The Obama machine wants to use the power of our dollar to fix the world, perhaps at a greater expense to our own people than we would be prepared to pay, if we only knew for sure that it was his plan. However, apologizing for America has become a habit with this administration, so perhaps the authors are right. Whether or not the authors prove their case is up to the reader to decide. The reader will have to decide if this is indeed a grand design to bring America to its knees, militarily and financially, while at the same time using our own resources to prop up those countries that have not yet achieved world supremacy. The reader will have a lot to decide and digest. The fact that the health care ruling occurred after the publication of the book makes a good deal of the book obsolete, unfortunately. Also the book was hard to read at times. It felt disjointed and the alphabet soup of names and agencies referenced was tedious. It was often hard to follow the trends predicted, since I think they presumed more knowledge on the part of the average reader than actually exists. The last third of the book consists of footnotes and a glossary which may help the frustrated reader.
This booked is clearly written with an agenda in mind. The phrase "so called" is used way too many times in this book. This "so called" investigation into what Obama will do in the next four years is a flawed work of fiction.
In "Fool Me Twice", authors Aaron Klein and Brenda Elliott present a scary look at the despotic and diabolical changes which will likely occur to the American landscape if Barak Obama is given a second term of office. Many precious liberties guaranteed by the Constitution will be irrevocably lost as the federal form of government will shift from one based on the preservation of individual rights and freedoms to the European-style welfare state: Individual choice will be increasingly supplanted by governmental rule (e.g. by the few who head the party in power). Most aspects of individual economic freedom (health care, social welfare, retirement, lifestyle choice, etc.) will be determined by the government and not by the individual. US law will incresingly become subservient to international law. Enslavement by current and increasing national debt will stifle economic recovery. Ever increasing taxes will destroy hope and economic initiative. Perhaps most devastating of all is that the liberal left, through its policies of (1) placing the American populace (read voters) on the "dole" (over 100 million Americans now receive some form of government welfare or other assistance) and (2) loose amnesty policies for illegal aliens, have "bought" (and increasingly will continue to buy) the votes of a sufficient majority of Americans to virtually insure the "left's" continued election to office (absolute power). Thus, productive Americans will lose their say and their cherished form of government. In her book "Atlas Shrugged", Ayn Rand correctly forecast our day (which is now upon us); one of increasing hopelessness because individual liberties are curbed absolutely. Many are now asking the question, "Who is John Galt?"
The authors have done their homework and document well the plans of the liberal left led by Obama. Unfortunately, while the authors lay out the facts, they do not analyze them well. As to each chapter, they should have stated the danger, presented the evidence in an organized fashion (they simply laid it out), analyzed it, drawn clear conclusions and proffered a plan of action to derail the leftist agenda. They did not do that well. Rather, they merely presented data and left the reader to sift and interpret their findings. For this reason, I gave the book only four instead of five stars. Nevertheless, the authors present a compelling case against Obama and the devastation that would certainly result from his re-election. Every American should read this book and rush to the election polls in November to delver to Obama and his minions a resounding defeat.
The title of the book "Fool Me Twice" is appropriate: As the saying goes: "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."
If you want to know what's coming in a potential second Obama term, read this book. It spells it out in a way our president won't - because he knows most people won't support it. He's already been laying the groundwork for even more radical change, to be implemented in his second term.
I'm currently at a US political book streak. The Bush autobiography was okay to informative. Not this one, so many quotes, "so called"s and "in other words"es just to try to prove a flimsy point. I'm at the point that whenever they quote the candidate they are against, I'm nodding and saying it makes sense. Not to mention all the attempts to repeat Boogeymen concepts and people. There are good opposition books; this ain't one of them.
I forced my way through most of this book searching for a cohesive, compelling argument. I was unable to find one. Nearly every page has unfounded opinions that paint President Obama as the socialist devil. The author continually makes the claim that progressives are pushing a socialist agenda to bring down the free, capitalist America we know and love. What the author fails to do is to provide a compelling motive for these actions or any compelling evidence that progressives have an orchestrated agenda at all. The only progressive policies that the author proves are ones that the president has publicly announced (and many Americans would like to see enacted). The author also conveys misinformation, especially on the subject of climate change. Regardless of what right-wing ideologues continue to push, the scientific community is in strong agreement that climate change is real and human activity is responsible.
If you are looking for an objective analysis of Mr. Obama's presidency, this is the wrong book. If you want your extreme right-wing, sensationalist ideology reinforced, knock yourself out.
This book was published in 2012, before election. I think this book is very well researched and give reader many facts what to expect from Obama's second term. 3 years after Obama was re-elected, I put my hands on it, and turns out that this book was true. To Obama's credit he worked day and night to change texture of this country according to his leftist views, therefore he surround himself with like-minded incompetent folks and implemented one by one every radical "progressive" idea, some of them are mind blowing, such as his maniac idea of climate change and green energy, you name it. The only problem with that book that is written in very dry language and very heavily documented, because its all filled with one fact after another you can't possibly remember them all. With something like 353 days remaining until the end of Obama's regime, you just have to wait and see that all Aaron Klein's and Brenda Elliot's prediction is coming true and America will never be the same as we knew it.
Fool Me Once, Shame on You Fool Me Twice, Shame on Me Obama's plans if he is voted in on second term. Pay particular attention to chapters on illegal immigration and the last chapter of fraudulent voting tallies, including the companies that are involved, a proposed popular vote amendment which would be bad for this country.
The authors lay out what they consider to be the major objectives of the second Obama administration. These include changes in banking, immigration, eliminating the electoria colleege, increased unionization of the workforce, higher taxes, and more regulation by executive decree. It comes off as a rant.
Started reading this over the summer... Had to put it down because it's a lot and was hoping I wouldn't have to worry about it BUT since that didn't work out it's time to delve in and get prepared so I can educate all those that think I am a loon.
Eye-opening details of cronyism and the influence of left-wing progressives on the Obama agenda. Very heavily documented and therefore not an easy read, however it is one everyone should read.
An interesting look into the actual plans and policies that Obama planned to put into place as well as what he plans to put in place as well as what he has actually put into place.
