This is a really fun adventure with a few twists and turns, a fun Power Trio of new met friends, plucky main character, and an evil villain. Younger audiences will enjoy this story, but it is still complicated enough for older Middle Grade readers. The Main Character makes a new friend and gains some confidence as the journey through an overly “sweet” wonderland to complete a quest in order to try to convince the witch to lift the curse of the title. It’s not as hecticly paced as Rick Riordan/ related, but instead a great read for long summer days when the mystery of “what will summer hold” is waiting to be discovered.

Its probably a 4 1/2 star since there are some sections in the “real” world that could be fighters, and the curse itself is underdeveloped and not really the point of the story in the end. But that’s trivial stuff.
