Junie B. Jones and the Mushy Gushy Valentime is such a cute book. It is Valentine's Day and Junie B. Jones has her very first crush. She finds out she has a secret admirer and she devises a plan to find out who it is from. She finds out it is from "Stinky Jim", who typically pretends he does not like her, but she knows he still does.
I loved Junie B. Jones books all growing up and I remember reading this one and thinking the idea of having a secret admirer seemed so fun. She is so silly and funny and all little kids (specifically girls) would love this.
I would use this book in an SLP session just as a seasonal Valentine's Day read. It could be used for literacy development, pragmatics, articulation ("Valentime"), etc.!
My students LOVED this series of books. So did my daughter. My son and I read Junie B books to my daughter as she got stitches in her chin. I've been analysing how they are put together.
