I was drawn into this story by the whispers of rumor. After a year of interviews and research, when all of the details were finally brought to light, a court-ordered nondisclosure ruling ended my inquiry. With no other legal options, I now offer this narrative only as a work of pure fiction. As a scientist I believe in the physical, proven laws of the universe. But here, in the domain of humans, those same rules do not always apply. There are sometimes moments of magic, events and outcomes that defy explanation and the boundaries of reason. Some would say these are merely random occurrence and unintended. Others would argue there are forces at play in the world that go far beyond our ability to comprehend. In the chaos and wonder of it all, perhaps the truth lies somewhere in between.
I wasn't sure what type of book this was going to be - a shadowy medical drama with the good guy on the run from bad guys wanting his discovery?
But this turned out to be so much better than that, and a lot more fun. It is medical based, but also a lovely romantic boy meets girl with wonderful dialogue, cute sick kids who you just want to hug, and a Catholic priest who never loses his smile or his faith in the non-believing hero.
Nothing offensive here. A lot of ingredients that I like: science, people working together for the greater good, a little suspense, a little romance, good banter, good characters, and a really good story.
This book will renew you hope for man kind and leave you hopeful. The main characters risk very thing to help others and ends leaving you with a good feeling that this is possible.
