Zu seinen bekanntesten Projekten gehören Houtan Park für die Shanghai Expo 2010, der Red Ribbon Park in Qinhuangdao und der Shipyard Park auf einer Industriebrache in Zhongshan. Dieses Buch geht den zentralen Themen in Yus Werk in 11 Essays bekannter Autoren nach und dokumentiert 22 ausgewählte Projekte.

Brilliant and inspiring. Will have to revisit again though to get a better grasp of all his site plans as I am not a trained architect, ergo my appreciation of this book at this point is predominantly conceptual rather than operational/scientific.

If I have more time, will revisit and rewrite this review to process my learnings from it. Any credible analysis of places and spaces must starts with its relationships to natural water forms, earth/habitat/biodiversity forms, risk of natural calamity, and sociocultural accessibility. Mental note as well to revisit the works of architects such as Lacaton + Vassal, etc.

Now, to figure out how to sustainably finance such projects...
