Robert J Power is the fantasy author of the Amazon bestselling series, The Spark City Cycle and The Dellerin Tales. When not locked in a dark room with only the daunting laptop screen as a source of light, he fronts an Irish rock band despite their many attempts to fire him.

Robert lives in Wexford, Ireland with his wife Jan, 3 rescue dogs and a cat that detests his very existence. Before he found a career in writing, he enjoyed various occupations such as a terrible pizza chef, a video store manager (ask your grandparents), and an irresponsible camp counselor. Thankfully, none of them stuck.

If you wish to learn of Robert’s latest releases, his feelings on The Fallout Series, or just how many coffees he consumes a day before the palpitations kick in, visit his website at www.RobertJPower.com where you can join his group The Outcasts. You might even receive some free goodies, hopefully some writing updates, and probably a few nonsensical ramblings.

Very satisfying conclusion to the Spark City series. Only complaint about a that there will not be more. Spark City has become one of my favorite all-time series and I will miss looking forward to the next installment!

A brilliant conclusion to an epic series. Was hooked from start to finish, I didn’t want it end but all things must. I highly recommend this book or the whole series if you haven’t read already. A wonderful escape for all lovers of fantasy. Laughed out loud at times and had a lump in my throat at others.

I feel sad having finished this book. I will miss this series and the main characters. I don't often feel that way after reading a book so that's a compliment in itself.

Having said that it was a bloody long book. Very drawn out at stages, with hundreds of pages of fighting. As much as I liked to know more about each protagonist there were always too many characters to follow throughout all 4 books and in this book it felt at times as if it was hard for the author to keep up with all of them and give them a story arch they deserved without making the book even longer. So some of them just seemed to quietly drop away after having spent so much time learning about them which was a shame.

I might read the series again someday although picking up a 1300+ pages book for some entertaining reading seems pretty daunting to be honest. This time around I just needed to know how the series ends.

Overall I'm really glad I discovered these books and could go on a journey with Erroh and Lea and I hope the author gets to write many more fantastic books.

Power has done it again. He mainatains a good pace to a plot that does not dissappoint with it's twists, turns and gritty drama. His charachter devlopment is phenominal, pulling the different storylines together to a fitting conclusion, all the while taking you on an emotional roller coaster of a ride. If you suspect you might be an Alpha you must read this book!

Bittersweet seems to be the most appropriate word. I loved this series and as sorry as I am to see it end, I am happy it ended well.

This may be my favorite book in the series. And that is saying a lot considering how much I loved the first book.

I would love to read some follow up stories in the Savage Isles and definitely what happens with Nomi and the Southerners. But I leave that up to Mr. Power and look forward to whatever tales he has to tell us.

Wow, I loved this series and this book was exceptional. It was fast paced, with so many moving storyline’s to merge together, which it did engagingly well and didn’t drag. It wrapped up characters endings for the most part. I was as happy as I could be with the ending, knowing there was a war, and not everyone could be fated for a happy ending.

The only thing that could have made it even more sensational, would have been a bit more on Aurora and Tempest/Amee’s end stories. They were such complex characters with a lot of trauma, I felt they were deserving of some retribution or peace within the story. I would have loved to see an epilogue for Lea/ Erroh, even a 10 years down the track snippet. But this was not needed to still thoroughly enjoy the book and wrap the series.

I am still holding hope for a prequel with Magnus and Elsie’s story.

Disappointing...

I wanted to like this series. When I read the first book, I was enthralled. I enjoyed the storyline and character building. Then, I read the second book and started to lose enthusiasm. By the third and fourth books, I was ready for the ending because the story no longer captured my attention. The lack of consistency in characters and storytelling just got boring. The use of the words deity and godly to describe everything got old. Is the author's vocabulary so limited that these are the only words he can come up with. It comes off as very lazy. Then there is the idea that Alphalines mate for life, yet according to the story, they don't. For example, Lillium leaves Wynn. Lea is going to leave Erroh in the second book. Erroh leaves Lea to go fight Uden, then Lea leaves Erroh. This does not go along with the theme the author tries to portray in the first book that Alphalines are mated for life. There are just a lot of inconsistencies in the storylines. By book four, I found myself skipping entire pages because the story had become so boring and predictable.

This book was a wild ride. Actually, this whole series was a wild ride; Robert J Power seems to hate and love his characters in equal measure like the absent god he is. If you haven't read the Spark City Cycle, do yourself a favour and read it all from the start. If you have, re-read it in preparation.

If you have read this far, you know his style and this is more of the same. Maybe dialled up to eleven for a big finale, because this is the climax of a long story. People get hurt emotionally just as often as physically, but everyone who survives seems to grow a little more from it over time.

And maybe it's just me, but the epilogue he chose was the perfect thread to follow in the end. There were many tales to be told, but only one where I needed to know how it all ended and that was the one he chose.

This was a perfect ending to the series with just the right mix of heroism, cruelty and human stupidity. I came away satisfied, exhausted and smiling...

Disclaimer: I received an advanced copy of this book and am still reading this long-awaited sequel to the Spark City story.

Sometimes I want to curse the author, Robert J. Power. Why? Because I struggle to put it down every night! (You are KILLING me, sir.)

For those who read the first 3 books, you'll easily fall back in with the characters (at least those who survive ;P), and what a glorious fall it is. I won't offer spoilers here, but I will say that this book has me in a vice-grip. It is just that good.
Mr. Power knows how to weave a tremendous tale. This is high-adventure, emotional, action-packed, and visceral, somehow set in a familiar place.

At this point, the only bad thing is knowing this is the last Spark City book, the culmination of the most enjoyable books I've read in several years.

I'll update this review again upon completion.

Oh by the absent gods why does it have to end! I've cheered, booed, laughed and cried my way through since series and loved and every moment. Robert may have also saved the best till last, it's a truly epic conclusion to the story and is now firmly among my favourites if not favourite.

I usually get a little nervous of last books in a series, as endings can really effect how you feel about a series as a whole. But this was just right, more than that. Apart from one character, everyones ending / conclusion made sense and felt completely right for them. The only one I was unsure about is Lea's.

Overall an absolute epic and I would highly recommend! I really hope and pray to the absent gods that in the future Robert returns to this world, maybe the savage isles or a more in depth look at the south.

A great ending to a great series

Such a great ending to the series. Every character was fleshed out. There was death. Love. Redemption. And rebuilding when it was all said and done. Honestly my only gripe is that I couldn’t stomach Lea as a character anymore. Couldn’t feel a shred of sympathy for her. Many times I skimmed through any parts that involved her. She was awful. Other than that, the storylines for every character began well, and in this book, ended well. 5/5 for this series as a whole. I’ll be re-reading from start to finish in the near future. Magnus has been my favorite character ever since he was introduced. I thoroughly enjoyed following the legend’s story. I wont spoil his final march. You’ll have to read for yourselves! Get to it!!!

The Actions of God's is the final part of the Spark City Cycle. It started quietly in Spark City, gained pace in March of Magnus and hit the accelerator in Outcasts. Now we're travelling at supersonic.
This is an amazing rollercoaster ride. There's love, death, madness, death, war and death, as Erroh and his Outcasts face their own trials and tribulations. Then just as you think things are about to settle, it's off we go again!
If you want a well paced story with action, emotional turmoil and a fitting finale, then read this and enjoy.

Words fail me…

This story took me the longest to read. I mean it took me a full on month to read all of it. And quite frankly, it was f-ing fabulous. The action, battles, love, hatred, just the overall drama, oh my gawd. And if you haven’t read the series you need to go pick up the first book and the rest, then read them right now because you’re not going to understand what’s going on in this book until you read them all. This epic series is well worth it, go read all of it right now.

I highly recommend rereading (or at least skimming)book three, The Outcasts, to jog your memory before you dig into this one. Once this book starts it doesn’t let up until the end. The Action of Gods was a satisfying conclusion to the Spark City series. Between the fast pace, multiple POVs, and converging storylines, it did not feel like an almost 1,400 page book. If you liked the first three in this series, you will not be disappointed by the finale.

This book, like all the others in the series is phenomenal. The story has grown so much from the beginning and has turned out to be one of the best fantasy series ever. Incredible world building and great characters are just some of the things that make this so good. Do yourself a favor and read the whole series!

I completed a re-read of the first three books shortly before this book was released and very glad I did. This is a great ending to the series with lots of character development and satisfying endings to most stories. While this is a perfect ending for the series - I would love to know more about some of the story threads and I really hope to have another series with this same characters. I really enjoyed the multiple POVs and jumps on the story but I do recommend reading in an uninterrupted manner to keep the previous chapters in mind. I will definitely be re-reading this series again and also cannot wait for the next series by Robert!

Fantastic conclusion to what has become among my favourite series. Absolutely adore all these broken, flawed characters. Addictive Page Turner. Couldn't put it down and finished it in a weekend.

But thank god you didn't break my heart. And Lea survived and made up with her Beo. Seriously had me worried right until the end. Outstanding series loved every page. Hope we get more in this world.🤞🙏🙌

Just finished book 4

This is an amazing finish to an amazing series. In all likelihood I will start the
series all over again tomorrow ( I will need to assimilate the final book before starting all over) I would like to see a finishing story of Erroh and Lea. Perhaps a short story with more explanation of
Lea' s family history.

Anyone fancy telling me how it ended? I gave up on Book3 too many inconsistencies with how the characters behaved. Not sure I can be bothered to read it but sort of want to know what happened to Erroh!

Bravo

I've loved this series from book one. The writing style and storytelling drew me in and held me close. A brute could do worse that to love a tale such as this. I read the final words with a touch of mourning hoping for a future where I can see Erroh, Lea, and Emir again.

WOW. What an ending. I'm glad the ends were left a bit loose. Tied, but very loosely. We get everything we were looking for, and then some, and the details of how it all moves on is left to the imagination. That's the way to end a series if you ask me.

This was absolutely amazing!

I adored the author and the world he managed to build. I fell in love with all the characters, I cried and laughed and hoped with each and every one of them.

It's been ages since I literally cried and laughed out loud, and this series had it all. The plot, the characters, the complexity. You get to witness everything, people and worlds changing with every page.

I am really hoping I'll see more of this world, I'll definitely be seeing this author again!
Great, amazing work, Robert Power!

A worthy ending

A great ending of the story, though a little too much dillydallying on the way. I would often skip forward when Power rambled into long, Jordan-esque descriptions. But all in all a worthy ending.

I love the Spark City series. I re-read each book before starting the latest one, so I’ve read the first one four times now. That’s how good it is! Would make an excellent TV series.

Epic tale

So…..really really good read.
Have loved each book.
The characters - gosh - the “evil” ones and the “good” ones - Everyone had a motive/reason …..
Sad to have it end.

too many books in this series

Too much repetition in the writing. Sappy foreshadowing. Same phrases chapter after chapter. Could easily have told this story in 2 or 3 books.
