Only You is a poetry collection about unrequited love, expressing my love for someone for whom no words will be enough to explain.
It has poems about the magical moments of falling in love with her and the unavoidable suffering. Poems I wrote to make the world understand her beauty and everything that made her perfect in my eyes.
I hope these poems show that love can be pleasantly exquisite - even when it sometimes inflicts immense pain. Some poems showcase a perfect love story, while others show the pain often hidden beneath the happiness. They are all about love. Not the perfect kind of love, but the one that is real.

Thanks to the author for trusting me to read and review an ARC of this beautiful collection of Sapphic poetry that I enjoyed a lot.
Mia's words are instilled with longing, love and wistfulness in every poem. They cover a broad range of concepts, from societal norms and a sense of "forbidden love", to regret, conflict, and memories' durability across the years. I think anyone could find something relatable within these pages, even platonic relatability. Human connection is rarely simple, but some things about it are so universal.
If you enjoy poetry, particularly queer poetry by an independent writer, I highly suggest this and other works by Mia Sanchez. This collection will be out in late July 2023!
I recall reading a collection by this poet last year and feeling that they were still finding their poetic voice. They still are, just as all poets refine and hone that voice throughout their writing. But Mia has really begun to tap into her grief and passion, and it shows. There were some gems in this collection. She should be very proud.
A great collection. This is an emotional collection full of longing and love. Being in love and keeping it a secret has its struggles and these poems capture it all.
Mia is a lovely writer, with a great imagination and her words are excellent. ‘Only You’ is a delightful poetry book and I hope that people will enjoy it as much as I did.
The formatting was a little unusual, as the poems aren’t written in stanzas but it doesn’t distract from the overall flow of the pieces. I will look forward to reading her future works.
A book filled with love poems. After reading novels for years and years, it took some getting into. But I loved the insight into how love feels for the author.
Poem number 14 was my favorite of this book!
It's about unrequited love for a very good friend of hers, who doesn't know how the author feels about her. Some of the poems could have been shorter and maybe have more excitement/suspense that way.
I loved getting a peek inside this relationship and the feelings she has for her friend. It feels like reading someones' diary. But I personally find an entire book about 1 very specific subject is a bit too much for me. But if you want to get carried away by love poems, perhaps this is the book for you!
Description: “But I want to write poetry
Describing her beautiful soul
So the world can fall for her
As easily I had done for years.”

Mia Sanchez's book of love poems is filled with many emotions, the most prominent being unrequited love. An emotion most of us have experienced once or twice in our lives, and one that is sometimes the hardest to overcome.
Poems carry pieces of the poet in their words, and that is clear with each one found in this book. Her love for the one she writes about seems eternal, despite the chance it might be returned in the way she wishes. The poems sadden and fill the reader with hope that love will win in the end.
I enjoyed some poems more than others, with "Beautiful Stranger" at the top of list. The style took some getting used to, as it's not the expected form most poems come in, but you cannot deny the feelings pouring from the pages. Well done.
I was given an ARC copy from the author for an honest review.
I absolutely adored the poems in this Sapphic poetry collection. They were real, were easy to grasp, and captured love in its truest form. Mia Sanchez's words brought alive what it is like to be sapphic and in love. I found that the formatting of the poems added another aspect to the work itself by incorporating a type of modern style.
I'd highly recommend this book to those interested in romantic poems and a realistic point of view of what love is like. I hope to read more of the author's works after this!
Only You is a poetry collection about unrequited love. Each page read one can feel the author's intense longing for the one sided love to be returned. The author's love is spilled within each lines of poetry painting the meaning and level of love harbored for their friend whom seems to not even know or may have a little idea of the feelings has within. Its a wonderful collection to read. If you like touching, heartfelt poems and pieces that are romantic telling a story of love. Give this book a read.
I sincerely thank the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Only You is a collection of beautiful poems of love. These poems were so personal and resonated true in many ways. This book spoke of all the pains, the longing, and the happiness that comes from falling in love. It was heartfelt and beautifully written. I believe many would be able to relate to at least one of the poems.
If you enjoy reading lovely poems that fills your mind with memories and a longing to read for more, this is the perfect book for you.
I love this authors writing. This is my first work of poetry written by this author and I’m in love with it. I’m obsessed with this author’s catalogue and my goal is to read everything they write. I highly recommend this for poetry lovers.
In this collection of personal poems, the author chronicles the myriad ways in which love hurts, not only when it’s unrequited but when it’s unspoken. Beautiful Disaster and Even If I Don’t Remember show the utter inevitability (fate?) of that which seizes us and refuses to let go. The longing and heartache in unrequited love are surely universal.
A lovely collection of poetry chronicling the ups and and downs of sapphic love. There author goes through all the emotions in this work--fear, joy, hesitance, regret, hope. Poems I enjoyed in particular were 15. Fight for Me Now, 20. Only You, 31. Teach Me to Dream, and 34. Beautiful Disaster
Get ready to feel every emotion possible. I definitely cried, a bunch. I relate to so many of these poems, and so many forgotten feelings were immediately felt. Thank you so much for creating this amazing collection.
ONLY YOU is the second poetry collection I’ve read by author Mia Sanchez. I loved this collection of poems, which featured raw, heartfelt words about living honestly and loving despite society’s rules. I loved the themes of longing and yearning, and first love and heartbreak. Mia’s poetry is so lovely and I can’t wait to read her next collection! 5/5 stars.
These poems are beautiful, but you can feel the heartache through them. As well as the desire and sadness. Definitely worth a read. I do hope there's a happy ending at some point in the future...
1⭐️ I wouldn't recommend this book. The poetry is raw, not in the sense of great emotions but raw as in someone writing poetry when they would be more suitable to try out a different form of literary art.
This book pulls you into the rawness of how someone feels when they love someone who they can’t have. I felt how sad the person is and I absolutely love it!
I am new to the personal poems side of books, but I enjoyed each one. The formatting threw me a little at first but I did get the flow once I started reading. I feel like there were quite a few that I truly related to and it had me so hooked to just keep reading more. This comes out in late July and I hope everyone finds that connection to it that I did! I do want to thank Mia for sending me this ARC and note that all opinions/thoughts above are my own!
