Nicely laid out, and containing practical instructions and exercises which acquaint the reader with Alexander Technique (and would supplement actual lessons).
Attributing "common" ailments to poor posture never occurred to me. I found this book fascinating and helpful in moving toward better posture. It was very persuasive. When I have the money, I will actually consider going to an Alexander Teacher.
finding this book really helpful so far. i have pretty chronic shoulder and back pain and the talk of different ways of aligning my body is already being helpful. i'm sure it would be more helpful if i was working with an alexander technique instructor but, alas, that is not in my financial plan. Hopefully by the time I'm done I will have perfect posture and be totally pain free. Or at least feel somewhat better.
This book provides an introduction to ways of reducing the stress in your body during normal movements.
Some sections of the book were interesting and I tried a few of the exercises and they did appear to work, but I think you need an instructor to show you how use the techniques correctly.
Adjusting my review of Change Your Posture, Change Your Life: A bunch of practical exercises. Most are to use a mirror to confirm position. Admonishment to hire a teacher of AT.
