Derek Parker (27 May 1932 – 2 January 2025) was a British writer and broadcaster. He was the author of numerous works on literature, ballet, and opera, and with his wife Julia of several books about astrology.
This is a great introduction to the underlying principles of magic and occultism. It’s like a broader and more visual version of Cavendish’s works. While a bit dated in places it’s still a solid primer.
This book, similar to the book Signs and Superstitions, is good if you’re interested in the history of magic and all kinds of facts and pictures about witches, devils, numbers, etc.
