Granted quality is hard to find in the market for children's Bibles, this is one of the better efforts I've seen. The illustrations are everywhere and serve their purpose. The text is less consistent, especially in the Old Testament. For the most part, it is faithful to the original stories and not excessively interpretive or bowdlerized; but sometimes it uses simple language, and at other times it incorporates unnecessarily advanced vocabulary that will baffle younger children. There are also a few striking narrative omissions, like Pentecost. Still, as a copiously illustrated and largely undistorted summary of most key Bible stories, it will probably be our family's go-to children's Bible for some time.
