Tony Stockwell is one of a small number of TV pyschics who have become somewhat popular and known among the masses in recent years. He was a practising psychic for years prior to working on TV but it is that which has lead to his fame and no doubt to publishers being interested in any book written by him (more popular = more people to sell to).

Yes I am one of 'those' people who believe in the supernatural, but somewhat suprisingly to some of you, I am also a die hard athiest who believes in the big bang theory (no not the TV program, although I must admit I do like watching that). My views on the matter are that the so called supernatural is just a part of science that we haven't yet discovered - things that were thought of as magic in ages past are now easily explainable with modern science, and so I feel that in the future science will develop to a level that proves 'ghosts' exist and how.

Anyway enough on my thoughts of the subject matter, now on to the book itself....

Spirited is essentially Tony's autobiography, geared around his development as a psychic medium. The parts I particularly enjoyed were where he relayed specific experiences, particularly in reference to his past lives - all very interesting to me.

I'm not particularly fond of the way he talks in real life - he says darling far to much, but this only really crops up in a few areas of the book where he's quoting himself.

At just over 200 pages it's hardly a long or difficult read and makes a nice change from other types of books if psychic mediumship is something you have an interest in. I picked the book up from a second hand shop on Monday afternoon and read 3/4's of it while sitting on a beach having a picnic this afternoon, so definately a nice easy read.

If you're a skeptic then this book won't change your views, but that doesn't mean it won't peak your curiosity. What is it a famous psychic once said? Something along the lines of 'To the believer no evidence is needed, to the skeptic no evidence is possible'...

In summary I doubt this book is ever going to change your life, there is nothing particularly profound within it, nor likely anything to change your mind, whatever your current thoughts are, but if the supernatural is a subject you enjoy then you should like this book.

Tony is genuinely out to help the world.

I am fascinated by people working in a spiritual capacity and find their stories so interesting. Tony shares his journey in an honest, humble way with the goal to helping people to understand that there is no death of the soul. We leave this physical life to go on and we stay connected to those we love. What better message can we ask for. Thank you Tony for shining your light.

As a person who is interested in psychics and the paranormal, I found this book entrancing.

While reading, I found that Tony's life has been full of wonders and hardships that he just learns to live with as part of the job, and carries on going because the good make up for the bad. I can understand that the emotions gained through his readings go away in time, but I think I'd get annoyed with constantly getting these varying emotions and pack it all in so I felt more constant. Luckily Tony sounds like a strong enough person to be able to bare it and for that I respect him.

Tony has helped so many people through his readings and changed lives too. I think that in itself is quite a gift. It's nice for the spirits to have a channel such a Tony to go through, who can be careful and subtle in his speach when needed, yet is humorous enough to take the edge off. You can really tell in this book, his first, that he really cares about the work he does and that it's been nothing less than his life long ambition to do this job - even when he was too young to know really what it was (or if it could even be achieved!). I have gained a lot of respect for him after reading his account of events in this book.

I first saw Tony on TV in a programme called "Psychic School", and this book has some of the snippets and experiences from that series written down. Some of the stories he retells are so heart warming that they make you want to weep for joy or thankfulness that a person such as Tony exists, who can bring comfort to people who have lost loved ones or people who need guidance. I do not envy his job, I don't think I am a strong enough person to do it, but I think the spirits chose the right man for the job and in a strange way I'm proud of him.

If you have an interest in psychics, mediums, or the paranormal I'd tell you this book is a must read. I can't tell you how happy I am that I read it and how much light it's shed on things in my life and a few questions have been answered too. Some sections of the book really did strike a personal chord with me, like the section on positive thinking. Definitely worth a read. Five stars.
