Each book in the Dukes of Danger series is a standalone story.
Sarah is sassy, independent, and ahead of her time. She has no interest in marriage, she doesn't want to give up her independence by marrying. She is quite strong in her beliefs.
Unfortunately her cousin may have just given her no choice but to marry or give up her innocence to the infamous rogue, Duke Leonardo.
Leonardo's is quite known by the ton, he has quite the reputation. Now that his father has passed, he has a duty to the estate. He must marry and produce the requisite heir. None of the ladies in society stir him quite like the innocent Lady Sarah.
Luck is on Leonardo's side, he may have the perfect plan to get Lady Sarah...
Both Leonardo and Sarah are strong characters who know what they want. They both are attracted to each other but through their time together they both find themselves fighting their developing feelings for one another.
If you enjoy a great plot with strong characters, a bit of mystery, the evil villain, and of course passion and love, you will want to read this book!

Leonardo vowed to keep his promise to his father he would marry, Sarah wanted to live her life to the full, until one night at a ball they come together and talked in the garden, from then on a friendship developed between them, Leonardo and the villain played a game of cards and Leonardo won, he could not stop thinking of Sarah and how he wanted her they kept meeting in secret, Julia found about them and Leonardo was being forced to marry Julia to keep Sarah reputation so Leonardo spoke to Sarah and said he wanted 5 nights with her in her bedroom at the museum and on his ship where he meet his mother who tells them about the assassin and that he is out for revenge on him for killing her father and uncle and not getting his money.
On the third outing they were kidnapped by the assassin and taken where her cousins are tided up, Leonardo is hurt but he still has a go at the villains, Leonardo mother and husband comes to there rescue and they take the villains away. The villain pays for what he has done. The happy couple are married

Entertaining Regency romance. I enjoyed this romp featuring sassy Sarah & Duke Leonardo as they fight their growing feelings for one another. Leo has promised his late father he will settle down and produce an heir to ensure the succession of his Dukedom; Sarah is ahead of her time in her belief that marriage will just be a form of prison for her and prevent her from having a freedom denied most women of her time. I liked that both of them are strong in their beliefs and this is what causes them to fight against their growing feelings. There is also the side plot of mystery surrounding the death of Sarah's father and uncle (resulting in the Earldom passing to her suspicious cousin, Alexander). An enjoyable story with a dash of steam as they well-matched couple find their HEA.
Wow! I loved reading how the relationship developed between Sarah & Leonardo. Their chemistry was palpable. I love that they got to know each other while being magnetically attracted to each other. Sarah was scandalous in many ways b/c of her lack of desire to marry, but that she sought out fulfilling her passionate desires with Leonardo was VERY scandalous for the times. I loved how Leonardo made her feel protected & free & able to have adventures. I enjoyed the bit of intrigue & was very pleased with the HEA!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This story lacked originality. The theme of the resentful and jealous female cousin reminded me of a previous book in the series. I liked the H and h together, but it just seems like the men are more together in these books. The women tend to create unnecessary obstacles that go against the actions of someone in love. I fell like it takes away from the love story. Also, I don’t like reading about the h who acts so naive and takes forever to realize that their family member/friend is evil. This is like every book so far in the series for me. It starts strong, but loses my interest and investment.
I did enjoy this book. The steamy parts had me coming back for more.
What I had trouble with was the story line. The five nights deal wasn’t struck until halfway through (which then made those nights feel rushed), and the plot about the previous heirs was brought up three quarters of the way through, so that seemed like a late added suspense theme to it. I feel like both of these topics should have been addressed earlier on.
As per his father’s wishes, he was on a quest to find a suitable wife. Despite her Aunt’s wish for her to marry, she did not want to lose her freedom through marriage. But once these two met, forces stronger than their plans sent them on a different path. Meanwhile, there are secrets, wealth, double murders to uncover amidst their steamy trysts. Excellent read.

I kept reading, hoping that it would get better, but no, it didn't. The author couldn't stick to one plot and thoroughly develop it. A lot of things didn't make sense. Like, why was the hero being blackmailed? Why did those two idiots move into his residence? What was the role of the heroines aunt? It didn't make any sense. The author threw a lot of subplots in order to make the book complex, but in the end, there was no cohesion. I can not believe I finished reading this book.
The write up on the story seemed as if it was going to take a different turn, but was pleasantly surprised that there was a mutual attraction. Sarah and Leo met at a ball ans were instantly drawn to one another. Sarah waa not interested in marriage and Leo the rake was seeking a wife. Issues beyond their control took things in another direction. There are a few steamy scenes and twists to the story. Enjoy!
She returned just in time. Oh this book was fun to read I loved the main characters and the villain! It took our heroine forever to realize what she wanted out of life was what her duke could give her but the path she and the duke took was priceless. There is a bit of naughty, humor, drama, and danger in this well crafted piece. I adored the book and I think you will too.
One of Ms. Brookman’s better books, love them all but this one has it all! Love, love denied, betrayal, and murder. Sarah never planned to marry, at least for a few years. Leonardo promised his fat beforehe died to find a lovely, quiet lady and have an heir, he lust for Sarah but her demure cousin Julia is more what his father would have approved!
Wonderful book and characters. It will keep you turning the pages from the first to the last. Sarah thought she never wanted marriage just her freedom to do as she pleased until she met leonardo . they were meant to be together to enjoy all aspects of life for many years to come . would highly recommend this author and book . happy reading 😊
Wonderful story wonderful story line great characters. Lots of unsavory plots, to steal, and conceal murders. Sarah and Leonardo are the main characters in this riveting love story. The Duke made a promise to his father he would marry, Sarah never wants to marry, she wants adventures. Together her and Leo Have some exciting ones. Thank you ♥️💞
I enjoyed the book with the exception of Sarah! What a dipstick! She really irritated me for not marrying Leonardo in the first place! He was more than willing, but she had some ideas about earning her own living! The language was too modern in places, hence the 4 stars.
A well written, fast moving story with many twists and turns. A wager becomes a dare and the dare becomes so much more. Yet another excellent novel by Tessa Brookman. Keep them coming!
The Duke of Dominance by Tessa Brookman is an intriguing story about the money and other people's quest for the good life at the cost of others. A good read by a great writer. You will enjoy the twist and turns.
This was a new author to me...I will definitely make it a mission to read more..enjoyed the characters in the story the plot moved right along you didn't want to put down.
This is an entertaining book to read - but the steamy parts are more like luke warm. Dominance is just a word there is not dominance in the book at all. In that I was expecting a dom with a sub I was disappointed. But the book is well written and entertaining - just not what I was looking for.
It was fascinating reading it with not just a love story, but oh so much more. Treachery, lies, misunderstandings. You were dragged through every emotion. Please, just read it.
